Kiran Oliver enters the transfer portal

Kiran Oliver, a redshirt freshman point guard for New Mexico State’s men’s basketball team, has revealed that he has signed up with the NCAA transfer portal. In a tweet sent early on Thursday, Oliver expressed regret and vowed to always love the Aggies. The first thing Oliver said was, “I want to thank Aggie nation for the long-awaited opportunity to play for this team and have somewhere I can call home. But I’ve made the decision to use my skills elsewhere. I’ve made the decision to visit the transfer site to look at my choices.”

Oliver is getting ready to make his collegiate debut this year after redshirting the 2021–22 campaign. Oliver announced his intention to rejoin the Aggies under new head coach Greg Heiar to the Sun-News in late March, despite the fact that nine players from the 2021–22 team who still had NCAA eligibility left had either transferred or declared for the NBA Draft. Only Oliver, Mike Peake, Marchelus Avery, and Shakiru Odunewu returned from the team from the previous season. Heiar claims that there is still room for one more hire, although Oliver will undoubtedly encounter fierce competition.
