La Liga season will continue on Saturday with four games on the schedule. However, DraftKings has targeted the top three games on the slate and built its DraftKings competitions around those contests. We took the time to break down the player values and price tags in order to find the best combination of star talent and sleeper values plays in order to help you build a winning lineup for this weekend’s competitions. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings La Liga Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Sergio Rico, Sevilla
Salary: $5,300
Nothing has gone according to plan for Valencia this season as they enter this week with a 3-2-7 record and the worst goal differential of any team that is still above the relegation line at minus-11. Meanwhile, Sevilla is off to an excellent start at 7-3-2 and should be in a good position to improve that record at home this weekend. Rico is a lot less expensive than Real Madrid’s two goalkeepers but we consider him just as likely to record the lean sheet win this weekend. Sevilla enters the week in third place in the standings table as they’ve produced 24 points in 12 games. Their goal differential is a bit of a concern, though, as their +5 margin is the worst of any team in the Top 6.
D: Marcelo, Real Madrid
Salary: $5,600
There isn’t a better defender option on the board this weekend than Marcelo, who is worth the investment on the back end. The money we saved selecting Rico over Real Madrid’s starter helps give us more than enough money to be able to afford Marcelo at the defender position.
D: Raphael Varane, Real Madrid
Salary: $3,700
Varane might not be as explosive as Marcelo in terms of La Liga fantasy production but he is also available at almost $2K less. Varane is still very capable of contributing at an above average level this weekend and the fact that we can get him at under $4K makes him a strong value option in La Liga fantasy. Real Madrid enters the week sitting atop the Spanish Primera table as they’ve produced 30 points in 12 games so far this season. They have scored a league-best 34 goals in those 12 games.
M: James Rodriquez, Real Madrid
Salary: $7,300
The midfield options aren’t as stacked as they are some weekends in DraftKings La Liga contests so it is that much more important to lock up the top option on the board. James Rodriguez should be able to find his way on to the score sheet in a favorable home game against Sporting Gijon and he is still available at a decent $7.3K.
M: Vitolo, Sevilla
Salary: $5,900
Sevilla should be at its best on offense against Valencia so it makes sense to go back to their roster for some attacking options. Vitolo has been among their most productive fantasy midfielders and at under $6K it would be hard to leave him off of our La Liga fantasy roster for Saturday.
F: Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid
Salary: $10,300
Ronaldo reminded the world what he is capable of with a hat trick in last week’s win over Atletico Madrid and now he gets the chance to add to his season stats in a much more favorable matchup. Ronaldo is undoubtedly the top option on the board for Saturday and there probably shouldn’t be a La Liga fantasy lineup in which he isn’t featured.
F: Gerard Moreno, Espanyol
Salary: $7,600
We could go with another attacking option from Real Madrid here but we are comfortable with Ronaldo and James Rodriguez so it’sworth taking a shot on a player like Moreno. Espanyol has a decent matchup at home versus Leganes so Moreno should be a reliable play for Saturday. Espanyol has scored 14 goals in 12 games so far this season while giving up 17. They enter the week in 12th place.
FLEX: Steven N’Zonzi, Sevilla
Salary: $3,800
Our final roster spot will go to perhaps the best value option on the board for Saturday in N’Zonzi, who has been excellent for Sevilla this season. The fact that he is available at under $4K makes him a tremendous steal in DraftKings tournaments and the perfect fit to fill out the final FLEX spot on our roster with salary cap room left over to spare.
