La Liga Fantasy: Week 15 Lineup

The La Liga soccer season continues on Saturday with four games on the slate and for this week DraftKings has opted to include all four games for their daily fantasy league contests. We decided to narrow our focus to the teams with the best matchups and lock in the best combination of star power and strong value options. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings La Liga fantasy leagues.

GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Barcelona

Salary: $5,900

Barcelona enters this week six points back of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table so there will be a sense of urgency when they take the pitch on Saturday. A matchup with an Osasuna club that is buried at the bottom of the table should mean an easy three points with their goalkeeper primed for an excellent chance to earn a clean sheet victory. Barcelona is usually a decent option for La Liga fantasy when focusing on the back end as they’ve allowed 15 goals in 14 games this season. Only three teams have allowed fewer.

D: Raphael Varane, Real Madrid

Salary: $3,500

Real Madrid should also be in a favorable position to add another three points to their total on Saturday when they match up with Deportivo. Varane isn’t the best option in terms of offensive potential but he is a solid value play considering his potential for a clean sheet bonus and his extremely reasonable price tag.

D: Javier Mascherano, Barcelona

Salary: $3,300

Mascherano is available for even less than Varane but should have just as much of a shot at earning the clean sheet bonus in front of Marc-Andre ter Stegen on Saturday. Osasuna has registered just 13 goals in 14 games so far so this is definitely a favorable matchup for Barcelona’s defenders.

M: Toni Kroos, Real Madrid

Salary: $7,200

Kroos has actually been one of the most productive fantasy assets on Real Madrid regardless of position all season and he is a smart choice based on both his potential and his price tag. Cristiano Ronaldo is the star finisher up front but Kroos is very capable of producing in the midfield both in terms of goals and assists as a set up man. Real Madrid enters the week in first place in the Spanish Primera. We’ll trust them for La Liga fantasy purposes here as they have scored 37 goals so far in just 14 games. That’s the most in La Liga.

M: Arda Turan, Barcelona

Salary: $6,800

Turan is coming off a hat trick in Champions League action and that performance left a strong enough impression on us to bank on him for another productive outing for Barcelona this weekend. Considering his potential, Turan is an excellent value option at under $7K in DraftKings competitions. Barcelona enters the week in second place with 28 points. They are currently six points back of Real Madrid, who has 34 points.

F: Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

Salary: $10,800

Ronaldo has been absolutely on fire over the last month and there is no reason to expect him to slow down with a very favorable matchup for this weekend. Real Madrid could score goals in bunches versus Deportivo and their superstar striker will be right in the middle of the action from start to finish.

F: Luis Suarez, Barcelona

Salary: $8,900

While we considered teaming up Lionel Messi with Ronaldo in this spot, Suarez gives us the necessary punch we need for significantly less money. Suarez has been a consistent fantasy force all season and at under $9K he is actually a very decent value option for this week’s La Liga fantasy contests.

FLEX: Samuel Umtiti, Barcelona

Salary: $3,200

With just over $3K left to address our final FLEX position it makes sense to invest in another Barcelona defender as Umtiti is the player with arguably the highest upside out of those that we can still afford with our remaining cap space. We are already all-in on Barcelona and Real Madrid this weekend so it makes sense to continue to bank on those powerhouses with one more play for our optimal La Liga daily fantasy leagues roster.
