Anthony Davis is already one of the most devastating scorers from inside the paint, but now he wants to improve his shooting from beyond the arc as well.
Davis averaged 14.3 points per game from the paint last year, and only NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo averaged more points from close range (17.5). Now, Davis wants to establish himself as a real threat from downtown.
“This summer I improved the most on my 3-ball. I wanted to be able to stretch the floor,” Davis said. “As a big, the game is definitely going that way now. … I for sure want to get that [percentage] in the high 30s. By me doing that I’ll be able to help the Lakers as much as possible … and hopefully win a championship.”
It will be a significant upgrade if Davis manages to take his three-point shooting into the high 30s. During his first five years in the NBA, Davis shot only 29 percent from downtown. Over his last two campaigns, though, Davis improved to 33.6 percent.

However, according to NBA.com, Davis shot just 2-of-23 on 3-pointers off the dribble. On the other hand, Davis was great on catch-and-shoot triples, making 37.7 percent of those shots.
