Both Leicester and Liverpool have amazing players in their squads, which is a guarantee of a big battle on Saturday! Who will win? Find out in this match preview!
Although they are very low on the table, Leicester definitely has the quality for one of the places in the top half. But to get there, they need to start winning again. That won’t be easy, as their next opponent is Liverpool!

LEICESTER
Probably the most interesting clash of the whole Premier League round 6 is the one in which Leicester welcomes Liverpool at the Turf Moor. The home side is close to the relegation zone, with only 4 points after 4 rounds. Still, this doesn’t mean that they’re bad. It only means that they need to improve their form as soon as possible.
Leicester has a superb squad, especially in the attack. That is why it’s a bit strange that they failed to score more than once in the last weekend’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield. But, to be fair, that match was played at Huddersfield’s turf. Leicester has always been better when playing at home.
Speaking of their home matches, the last time they played at the King Power Stadium was this Tuesday. They played against Liverpool, not in the Premier League, but League Cup. The score was 2:0 Leicester, showing that they have the potential required to win big matches.
The victory in the League Cup certainly gave the Foxes massive boost ahead of the weekend’s clash. Another thing that gives them confidence is that most of their key men are fit and available for the duel. The only player who will certainly miss it is Adrien Silva, who is serving a suspension.
Leicester does have a few injury worries. Fuchs and Vardy are struggling with fitness, but are likely to be available for the Liverpool game. Neither of them will probably start the match from the very beginning, but if needed, they can come in from the bench.
Another thing going in favor of Leicester is that they seem to be very good in duels against Liverpool, especially when playing at home. The Foxes won 3 out of 5 previous meetings with Liverpool. All of those wins happened at the King Power Stadium, the same place where the Saturday’s clash takes place!
LIVERPOOL
Liverpool fans have high ambitions for this season, which should not surprise you if you take a look at their squad. They’re one of the most powerful teams in the Premier League when it comes to the offense. They have a number of super-talented wingers, including Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mo Salah, and so on. They also have a few amazing strikers in the team – Firmino, Sturridge, Solanke, and so on. On top of everything, Liverpool has a couple of top-class playmakers, most notably Philippe Coutinho.
Unfortunately, not all of them are available to play in the match with Leicester. Sadio Mane is out because of the suspension that he earned by getting a red card in the clash with Manchester City. There are a few more absentees who will miss the game because of injury problems. Those include Nathan Clyne and Adam Lallana.
It seems that all eyes will be focused on Coutinho, a player who’s returned to the squad last week after being out for a while due to an illness. The playmaker, who’s one of top transfer targets for Barcelona is expected to shine this season. The 25-year-old is one of the player’s ion whom Liverpool fans are putting their hopes to help the team achieve a big success this season.
The biggest worry the fans of Reds have is that their team hasn’t been in a good form lately. They are without a win in 4 games; the last one being the 4:0 win over Arsenal in late August. Since then, Liverpool lost to Manchester City 5:0, played 1:1 with Burnley, 2:2 with Sevilla in the Champions League, before losing to Leicester in the League Cup, 2:0, earlier this week.
Another concern Liverpool fans have ahead of this game is that this side is not that good when it comes to playing away matches. Liverpool plays best when in front of their supporters at the Anfield, while away games are not their specialty. In fact, the biggest defeat they suffered in a while, happened in an away match. I’m talking about the 5:0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Leicester vs. Liverpool – Match Prediction
There’s absolutely no doubt that this is going to be an entertaining match. Both sides have super-talented players in their squads, although I give a slight advantage to Liverpool. The advantage of Leicester in this game is that they play in front of their supporters, at the King Power Stadium, where they’ve always been strong.
With all this in mind, I suggest staying away from outcome betting. Instead, it’s better to focus on goals. I think that both sides are extremely powerful in the attack, which is why it’s fair to expect to see goals on both ends.
MY PICK: Both Teams to Score (-149)
