Linares vs Crolla 2 Odds For Saturday

Linares vs Crolla 2 Odds For Saturday – Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom Boxing are back in Manchester for a huge boxing card that sees Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla meet again with the WBA world lightweight title on the line.

Linares and Crolla first fought for the WBA belt in September of 2016 and that fight saw Crolla outboxed by Linares in a fight the judges saw 115-114,115-113,117-111 for Linares. The win gave Linares a 41-3 overall record and a second reign as lightweight champion. Linares resume also includes world titles in two other weight classes and he is 2-0 in world title fights in England. Linares is originally from Venezuela but he is a world traveler type as he has lived in Tokyo, Japan and done a great deal of his fight preparations in and around Las Vegas, Nevada. He has 27 knock outs in his 44 career bouts so he has a lot of power, but he is best known as a technician with a highly refined game.

And that showed in his bout against Crolla the first time. Crolla was making a title defense, as he won the belt from Darlys Perez after a pair of hard fought bouts that saw their first encounter end in a draw. Against Linares the first time many observers feel the score was not as close as the hometown judges may have had it, and the second fight is expected to go pretty much the same as the fisrt – with Linares outclassing Crolla.

Jack Arnfield (23-2) defends his WBA International title at middleweight as he faces the challenge of Brian Rose (29-4-1). Arnfield has been riding high, winning the belt in September of 2016 and he has gone 2-0 since then, staying active. Rose has gone 1-0 since his April of 2016 loss to Matthew Macklin in what turned out to be Macklin’s retirement fight. The bottom line is that Rose, with the likes of Macklin and current WBA world super welterweight champion Demeterius Andrade on his resume has fought the far higher level of competition heading into this one.

Linares vs Crolla 2 Odds For Saturday

Promoter Hearn has a full night of fights planned as the card sees 11 fights on the schedule. Several of the other fights may get attention from the books as we get closer to fight day. Kudos to Hearn for his matchmaking in this one as the lines already at the books are competitive. Do not look for that to be the case if lines for some of the other fights on offer appear.

Martin Joseph Ward (16-0-2) is facing Maxi Hughes (16-2-2) in defense of a pair of regional belts at super featherweight, and middleweight action sees Marcus Morrison (14-0) defending his WBC International title against Jason Welborn (20-6).

Popular light heavyweight Hosea Burton (18-1) is on the card as well as several fighters making their debuts in four round fights. Perhaps the biggest attention-getter on the undercard is the women’s lightweight match that sees Ireland’s Katie Taylor (3-0) taking on Milena Koleva (9-7-1) in an eight round bout.
