Lipscomb Bisons – North Florida Ospreys Preview – 01.14.2016

The North Florida Ospreys (13-6) look to extend their eight-game home winning streak when they take on the Lipscomb Bisons (4-14), who have dropped five in a row on the road. The game gets underway at 7:00 pm ET on Thursday, Jan. 14 and will air on ES3.

The Ospreys beat Jacksonville 83-68 the last time they played. Demarcus Daniels played a key role, recording 22 points and 10 rebounds to notch his first double-double this season. The Bisons are coming off a 102-86 loss at the hands of Kennesaw State in their last outing. Eli Pepper had a solid game, accumulating his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 17 rebounds.

Chris Davenport has really been playing well as of late for the Ospreys, averaging 12.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 three-pointers over the last five games.

The high-powered offense of North Florida (16th in the nation with an offensive efficiency of 117.8) will square off against the porous defense of Lipscomb Bisons (293rd in the nation with a defensive efficiency of 108.8), a matchup that should favor the Ospreys. Moreover, foul-shooting opportunities could prove to be quite rare for the Bisons. They are 267th in the nation in FTA rate (32.9), while the Ospreys are among the nation’s least foul-prone teams (allowing a rate of just 26.8, ranking 25th in the country).
