We have an early start tonight with a 7 p.m. Day Two of the NFL Draft kickoff. We have plenty of high-value picks loaded at the top of the round and we’ll get to really see what teams think of the remaining quarterbacks, Myles Jack and Jaylon Smith. Maybe.
Scroll on down for the live blog. Keep reading to see the top portion of my second round mock draft.
32. Cleveland Browns – Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
The Browns can screw around or they can do what needs to be done to secure their future. Maybe Robert Griffin III will turn back into a glass slipper, but if he doesn’t, Cook would be far from a wasted pick. If they can trade down a few picks and still get Cook drafted, they should do it. Otherwise, pull the trigger here and don’t look back.
33. Tennessee Titans – Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
Dodd was on plenty of first-round mocks just yesterday morning. The Titans shouldn’t let him fall far.
34. Dallas Cowboys – A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
Robinson’s story is similar to Dodd’s. He’ll reap the reward of being on a 2016-17 playoff team.
35. San Diego Chargers – Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
The Chargers passed on their tackle in the first round. Go ahead and pick him in the second.
36. Baltimore Ravens – Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
Flacco needs a tight end and Henry is the best on the board.
37. Kansas City Chiefs – (from 49ers) Jarren Reed, DT, Alabama
Reed is another play I had pegged for the first round. No reason for the Chiefs to pass him up here.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars – Cody Whitehair, OG, Kansas State
The Jaguars continue their build up front with the best guard in the draft.
39. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky
The Bucs benefit from Spence’s fall by getting their first legit defensive end since Simeon Rice.
40. New York Giants – Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
The Giants need to add another defensive end with an unconventional name.
41. Chicago Bears – Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
We’ve got a streak of players going here I thought had first-round grades. That either means I was way off or the top of the second round is full of steals.
42. Miami Dolphins – Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
The Dolphins were probably hoping Ezekiel Elliott would fall to them in the first. Instead they get the Derrick Henry giant consolation prize.
43. Tennessee Titans – Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
Starting corner with a first-round grade? The Rams-trade draft haul truly begins here.
44. Oakland Raiders – Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama
Ragland is the final player taken out of my “should have been first rounders” group and a day-one starter for the Raiders.
45. Tennessee Titans – (from Rams) Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
Back when the regular season was over Thomas was the consensus No. 2 receiver coming out in the draft. Scouts talked themselves out of that and now the Titans have him fall into their laps.
46. Detroit Lions – Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
With Thomas gone, the Lions go Boyd in the search for an outside receiving threat.
The show is on ESPN and the NFL Network at 7 p.m. Watch it with me.
