Longwood Lancers – Radford Highlanders Preview – 02.27.2016

The Radford Highlanders (16-13) will wrap up the regular season when they meet the Longwood Lancers (8-22) at Dedmon Center. Action begins at 4:00 pm ET on Saturday, Feb. 27.

The Highlanders enter this game hoping for similar success after topping Campbell 60-56 on Thursday. Ed Polite Jr. was a key piece with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. The Lancers, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their close 74-73 loss against Presbyterian on Thursday. Longwood lost despite the best efforts of Lotanna Nwogbo, who recorded his 13th double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Over the last five games, Cameron Jones has taken his game to another level for the Highlanders, averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.2 three-pointers. Nwogbo has been hot for the Lancers. In the same five-game span, he is averaging 18.8 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks.

This is the second game of the year between these two teams, with the Highlanders winning the first matchup 90-81. Nwogbo had a double-double in the loss with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
