Los Angeles Lakers – Charlotte Hornets Preview

The Charlotte Hornets welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to the Time Warner Cable Arena. Action begins at 7:00 pm ET on Monday, Dec. 28 and can be seen on TWC and FxS.

The Hornets enter this game hoping for similar success after topping the Grizzlies 98-92 on Saturday. Kemba Walker was the game’s leading scorer with 22 points on 6-for-12 shooting. The Lakers, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their 112-96 loss against that same Grizzlies squad on Sunday. Los Angeles still lost despite the best efforts of Larry Nance Jr., who recorded his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Charlotte is one of the most disciplined teams in the league with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.74. Teams usually don’t get many offensive rebounds against the Hornets, who are one of the top defensive rebounding teams in the league with an average of 35.1 defensive rebounds per game.

As for their opponent, the Lakers have a record of 11-20 ATS and 5-26 SU. Despite having a losing record against the Eastern Conference, Los Angeles is successful ATS in those games with a record of 8-5.

These two will be squaring off for the first time this season. In their previous head-to-head meeting, Charlotte came out on top, but the win was not enough to overtake Los Angeles in the recent head-to-head series. Its record is now 4-6 SU over the most recent 10 meetings. The teams are even ATS, with a 5-5 record.
