The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners battle the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs this week in a game that will feature the CUSA’s third-leading passer, Blake Bogenschutz (897 yards, 4 TDs), and leading passer, Jeff Driskel (1,461 yards, 10 TDs). The Roadrunners have gone 1-4 thus far, while the Bulldogs are 3-2. The game will air Saturday, Oct 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET on AMSN.
In last week’s matchup, UTSA defeated UTEP 25-6. Dalton Sturm had a good performance through the air in the victory, connecting on zero of two pass attempts for zero yards. He also was a threat in the run game, rushing for 59 yards on three carries. Jarveon Williams also had a great game with 133 rushing yards and a TD on 28 carries. Louisiana Tech was victorious last week’s performance as well, winning big over Louisiana-Lafayette 43-14. Marcus Gaines had a huge game for the Bulldogs, grabbing eight receptions for 165 yards and one TD. Jeff Driskel had a great game as well, adding 290 yards and two TDs through the air.

Even with a subpar Straight Up (SU) record of 1-4, the Roadrunners played better than expected, going 3-2 Against The Spread (ATS) so far this year. UTSA’s special teams squad is a force to be reckoned with. They average 150.6 return yards per game, fourth in Division I.
Over on the other sideline, the Bulldogs head into Week 6 with records of 3-2 for both ATS and SU. Chances are Louisiana Tech will continue to rely on its passing attack, where its 313.4 passing yards per game ranks 18th in the nation. Shifting to the other side of the ball, it might be tough for the Roadrunners to keep up with Louisiana Tech’s defense in a few areas. The Bulldogs defense might be able to take away the ball as the Roadrunners rank near the bottom in the country in fumbles lost with 1.4 per game. UTSA needs to keep its intensity through the fourth quarter against the Bulldogs, who average 10.8 points in the final 15 minutes of regulation.
