On last week’s episode of Lucha Underground, Cage competed in his second match ever, facing the Lucha Underground Champion, Prince Puma. Cage wasn’t focused on winning the match. Instead, he was focused on making a statement. After hitting Prince Puma with a low blow (which would cause Cage to lose by disqualification), Cage took the Lucha Underground Championship and layed out Prince Puma’s mentor, Konnan. Also on last week’s episode, we saw Fenix hand Mil Muertes his first defeat in a single match, and “The Crew” (the group of Cisco, Cortez Castro, and Bael), as called by Matt Striker, had an impressive showing in a six-man tag team match.
Tonight’s episode features a main event of Johnny Mundo taking on Cage.

Son of Havoc (w/Ivelisse) vs. Angélico
Son of Havoc has only won one of his matches since debuting on the premiere episode of Lucha Underground, losing to the likes of Sexy Star, Mascarita Sagrada, and Chavo Guerrero. Angélico has only been featured in one match so far (which was a loss to Cage), where he showed a diverse set of moves, but eventually came up short in the match.
Angélico sends Son of Havoc into Ivelisse, who was standing on the ring apron, and rolls up Son of Havoc for the win. Winner: Angélico
Backstage Segment
Dario Cueto is in hiss office with Johnny Mundo, who hasn’t been on Lucha Underground in a few weeks. Cueto knows that no matter how much these two don’t like each other, Johnny Mundo constantly puts on 5-star main event matches. With that in mind, Cueto puts Mundo in the main event match against Cage.
Famous B vs. Pentagon Jr.
Famous B hasn’t been featured much on Lucha Underground so far, whereas Pentagon Jr. has been competing almost every week. This alone does not bode well for Famous B.
After hitting a package piledriver and locking in a modified Kimura armbar, Pentagon Jr. picks up the win. Winner (via submission): Pentagon Jr.
After the match, Pentagon Jr. keeps the hold locked in, and hyperextends the arm of Famous B. Pentagon Jr. then cut a promo, saying that he is loyal to his “master,” who is currently unknown.
Drago vs. Aerostar
This is the third match in a row that features a newer luchador taking on someone more experienced in the Temple. Aerostar debuted in a match alongside Angélico and Cage, and he has been trying to make a name for himself since. Drago has been feuding with “The Hunter,” King Cuerno, for weeks, which seems to have concluded with the Last Luchador Standing Match, where King Cuerno tied Drago to the ringpost to prevent him from getting up.
Aerostar and Drago have some great in-ring chemistry with each other, and Drago eventually comes out on top with a Blockbuster combined with a DDT. Winner: Drago
Backstage Segment
Fenix is backstage training, when he is approached by Catrina. Normally, Catrina approaches the opponents of Mil Muertes, and sends them a warning. However, Catrina just kisses Fenix, and tells Fenix to keep it between them.
Johnny Mundo vs. Cage
Matt Striker notes that this is first time we have seen Johnny Mundo since the Aztec Warfare match for the Lucha Underground Championship, and Mundo is back, ready to win the title. Cage enters with Prince Puma’s Lucha Underground Championship around his neck, which Cage destroyed after laying out Prince Puma and Konnan last week.
During the match, we see King Cuerno (“The Hunter”) perched above the stands, scouting the match. It is unknown whether his motive is to make one of these men his “prey,” or if he is in the hunt for the Lucha Underground Champioship.
Mundo hits an impressive corckscrew plancha over the ring post onto Cage, but afterwards is attacked by King Cuerno. Mundo’s leg is up against the ring post, and King Cuerno smashes it with a chair. Winner (via disqualification): Johnny Mundo
Dario Cueto comes out to make sure the “5-star match” ends properly, but restarting the match.
Johnny Mundo vs. Cage, restarted
Cage plays it smart and focuses on the injured leg of Johnny Mundo.
Mundo gets an impressive amount of offense in, but Cage hits a modified Gory Special on the injured Johnny Mundo for the win. Winner: Cage
