Last week on Lucha Underground, both the Lucha Underground and Trios Championships were successfully defended. Matanza defeated The Mack, and Aerostar, Drago, and Fenix defeated the Taya-led Worldwide Underground. Tonight, Prince Puma returns to action, and El Dragon Azteca Jr. faces Chavo Guerrero with the winner going on to face Pentagon Dark.
Opening Segment
Dario Cueto approaches Sexy Star backstage and tries to convince her that before she eventually loses the Gift of the Gods Championship, she should cash it in on Matanza Cueto. Before El Jefe heads off, he schedules a match. Sexy Star will team up with the Trios Champions (Aerostar, Drago, and Fenix) to take on the Worldwide Underground (Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black, and Jack Evans).
Siniestro de la Muerte vs. Prince Puma
A couple weeks ago, Prince Puma attacked Mil Muertes from behind and reignited a feud that goes al the way back to the first Ultima Lucha Dos. To prepare for his inevitable collision with Muertes, he requested Siniestro de la Muerte as his opponent. Long time viewers of Lucha Underground will remember that Siniestro de la Muerte first appeared in the Temple as part of the Disciples of Death. The Disciples, led by Catrina, eventually became the Trios Champions. Due to his former allegiance with Muertes, this is a good chance for preparation.
During the match, Mil Muertes comes down to the side of the ring to look on, and Prince Puma mocks the Man of 1,000 Deaths by using his finishing maneuver, the Flatliner, to put Siniestro de la Muerte away. Winner: Prince Puma
After the match, Puma immediately hits Mil Muertes with a suicide dive, but before the two can destroy each other, Catrina yet again breaks up the fight.
Backstage Segment
Cortez Castro, an undercover cop who was outed by Joey Ryan, enters Dario Cueto per El Jefe’s request. Cueto apologizes for whoever killed Mr. Cisco (it was Dario Cueto), and suggests that it could have been Big Ryck. Cueto then gives Castro a match in honor of his late friend.
Cortez Castro vs. Pentagon Dark
It is pretty clear that Cueto knows that Cortez Castro is undercover by scheduling Pentagon Dark for his opponent. Pentagon is known for destroying his opponents, then finishing them off by breaking their arms. After putting Cortez Castro away with the package puled river, Pentagon Dark then proceeds to break his arm as well. Winner: Pentagon Dark
Aerostar, Fenix, Drago, & Sexy Star vs. The Worldwide Underground
Last week, the Trios Champions successfully defended their gold against Taya, Jack Evans and PJ Black, and a brawl would transpire between these 8 competitors, leading to this match. Jack Evans would goof off the entire match, which practically made it a 3-on-2 handicap match. Now with Johnny Mundo on their side, this could be a more balanced match.
Sexy Star and Taya battle inside the ring, and when Sexy Star sends Taya through the ropes, it appears that Taya injured her leg. With Taya out, Jack Evans tags himself in and covers Sexy Star with a bridge pinning combination to put away the Gift of the Gods Champion. Winners: The Worldwide Underground
Backstage Segment
Catrina is, well, somewhere, with Mil Muertes and Siniestro de la Muerte. She tells Muertes that Siniestro has failed them for the last time. She then proceeds to snap the neck of Siniestro de la Muerte, then apparently transfers his power to Mil Muertes. Catrina then instructs Muertes to do the same thing to Prince Puma.
El Dragon Azteca Jr. vs. Chavo Guerrero – Special Guest Referee (Rey Mysterio)
Both Chavo Guerrero and El Dragon Azteca Jr. have been hurt by Pentagon Dark, and Dario Cueto gave them an opportunity to earn a match against the man with no fear. To make things even more interesting, Cueto put Rey Mysterio as the special guest referee since he has important relationships with both competitors.
After Chavo Guerrero strikes Mysterio, the special referee strikes back. This sets up El Dragon Azteca Jr. to roll up Guerrero, pick up the victory, and earn an opportunity at a future match against Pentagon Dark. Winner: El Dragon Azteca Jr.
Ending Segment
Black Lotus is seemingly talking to her father in spirit, and says that she will send the Black Lotus Triad to attack Pentagon Dark so he knows what fear truly looks like.
