The Los Angeles Lakers are in need of new leadership, after the shocking announcement from Magic Johnson on Tuesday night.
In what was supposed to be the season finale of an already disappointing year for the Purple and Gold, the unplanned news conference, just before the game, made the Lakers season even sourer.

“I love [Jeanie Buss] as a sister. Her and I have such an amazing relationship” Johnson said at the press conference. “She gave me full power to do what I wanted to do. But I think, with her and I, I want to always preserve our relationship. I think I had more fun when I was able to be the big brother and ambassador to everybody.”
Earvin, I loved working side by side with you. You’ve brought us a long way. We will continue the journey. We love you 💜💛 https://t.co/ofmQl6BtBz

During Johnson’s tenure, the Lakers had a 79-108 record (.422), and failed to reach the postseason, despite acquiring LeBron James last summer.
Now with Magic out of the picture, the Lakers will have even more off-season decisions to make.
Is Luke Walton the next in line to leave the Lakers? Will Anthony Davis join LeBron James and finally make the Lakers a title contender? Who will replace Johnson … Kobe Bryant???
