The No. 10 Butler Bulldogs defeated the No. 7 Arkansas Razorbacks, 79-62, on Friday, March 16, in the 2018 NCAA Tournament’s Round of 64. Butler was the favorite despite being the lower-seeded team. The Bulldogs covered the spread as one-point favorites while the game went under the total of 152.5.
The Bulldogs will move on to face Purdue, which defeated CSU Fullerton earlier Friday, in the Round of 32. Odds for that Sunday matchup will soon be released by BetDSI Sportsbook, but we anticipate Matt Painter’s Boilermakers, who were the class of the Big 10 this season, will be favored.
Senior forward Kelan Martin scored 27 points on 9-for-16 shooting and collected nine rebounds, all on the defensive end, to pace the Bulldogs on Friday. Butler was dominant on the boards, as it out-rebounded Arkansas 45-25.
Butler’s odds to win the NCAA Tournament were moderate, with BetDSI pegging the Bulldogs at +20000 to cut down the nets in San Antonio. Arkansas entered the tournament with slightly lower odds at +22000.
