Mario Morris Named NCAA’s Chief Financial Officer

Mario Morris, a former football player for the University of Alabama, has been appointed the NCAA’s senior vice president of administration and chief financial officer. The declaration was made on Wednesday. Sept. 12, which marks the beginning of his new job. Morris is currently working on his PhD in educational leadership.

 

Morris graduated from Wisconsin School of Law in 2006 and Alabama School of Business in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He was a starting linebacker for the football team of Alabama, where he was a member of the 1992 Crimson Tide squad that won the national championship.

Morris is now Notre Dame’s executive assistant athletics director. Morris will be in charge of providing strategic leadership and direction for all financial activity and administrative operations as the NCAA’s senior vice president of administration and chief financial officer. Morris served in a number of financial management positions at Wisconsin before joining Notre Dame. The $150 million operating and financial budget for Wisconsin was under Morris’ principal control as CFO.
