We will focus on night games for our Saturday MLB Super Seven and sleeper with Draft Kings prices.
P – A.J. Burnett – Pittsburgh
Burnett opened at $7,600. The Pirates are at the Arizona Diamondbacks with a starting time of 7:10 p.m. ET. After a sluggish start the Pirates have won six out of their last eight games including three in a row to now stand at 9-8 on the season. Burnett has been outstanding so far with a 2.00 ERA in three starts. Burnett allowed just one earned run in six innings of work in his last start.
C – A.J Pierzynski – Atlanta
Pierzynski opened at $3,800. The Braves are at the Philadelphia Phillies with a starting time of 6:05 p.m. ET. The Phillies pitching staff is one of the worst in baseball and ranks 29th for WHIP, which has been a key factor in their poor 6-11 start. Pierzynski is off to an outstanding start to the season with a .400 average and 1.221 OPS. The Braves catcher has hit three home runs so far this season. Phillies starter David Buchanan has a 9.22 ERA in three starts and has allowed a .361 batting average so far on the season.
1B – Adrian Gonzalez – Los Angeles Dodgers
Gonzalez opened at $4,500. The Dodgers are at the San Diego Padres with a starting time of 7:40 p.m. ET. The first place Dodgers are 10-6 and have the look of a team with plenty of upside. Gonzalez has been a key contributor to the success of the Dodgers with a .403 batting average and 1.286 OPS. Gonzalez has six home runs, eight doubles, 14 runs, and 15 RBI on the season.
2B – Rougned Odor – Texas
Odor opened at $3,800. The Rangers are at the Los Angeles Angels with a starting time of 8:05 p.m. ET. The Angels pitching staff ranks a subpar 18th for earned run average. Odor is a big bargain and off to a solid start with a .270 average with six runs and seven RBI to stand out on a Texas team that is staring the possibility of a 100 loss season right in the face.
3B – Matt Carpenter – St. Louis
Carpenter opened at $4,900. The Cardinals are at the Milwaukee Brewers with a starting time of 6:10 p.m. ET. The horrible Brewers are off to a 3-14 start as they continue their pathetic play from the final two months of last year. Milwaukee ranks 29th for staff earned run average. Carpenter is the Cardinals top hitter with a .387 batting average, .441 OBP, and 1.119 OPS. Carpenter has 13 runs, 11 RBI, nine doubles and three home runs. Carpenter has hit safely in his last 10 games.
SS – Brandon Crawford – San Francisco
Crawford opened at $4,300. The Giants are at the Colorado Rockies with a starting time of 7:10 p.m. ET. The Rockies are off to a surprising start with a record of 10-7 but their pitching staff remains a concern. Colorado ranks 20th for staff earned run average and 28th for WHIP. Crawford is a value buy with plenty of upside as he is far below his career numbers with a current average of .211. The Rockies success is not sustainable with their pitching staff and Crawford rates a solid shot at a productive night against Colorado starter Jorge De La Rosa, who was shelled for seven earned runs and nine hits in two innings of work in his last start.
OF – Starling Marte – Pittsburgh
Marte opened at $5,200. Arizona starter Ruby De La Rosa has been rocked for a 6.00 ERA in his first three starts on the season with four home runs allowed while allowing a batting average of .307. Marte is far below his career numbers with a .226 batting average and a .276 OBP. Marte brings plenty of upside against a bad pitcher tonight.
Sleeper – Shin-soo Choo – Texas
Choo opened at $3,900. Choo is also far below his career numbers with a dreadful start in which he is hitting just .119 with a .245 OBP and OPS of .459. Choo is a career .280 hitter that has a .382 OBP and .832 OPS in his 10 year career.
