Ranked among the top 15 prospects in the country, and regarded as one of the most explosive few, five-star small forward Miles Bridges ended his recruitment on Saturday, committing to play for Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.
Bridges, a Michigan native who has spent much of his prep career at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, picked Sparty over a host of options, including the other two finalists, Kentucky and Indiana. Known certainly for his explosiveness, Bridges has a blooming skill set that includes the ability to attack off the bounce and knock down shots from deep. Most importantly though, especially given his college choice, he is a stout defender and elite rebounder for his position.

While MSU fans would be elated about this commitment if it happened alone, it comes on the heels of Izzo loading up on what some are calling his best recruiting class ever in East Lansing.
Bridges joins fellow five-star Joshua Langford, four-star point guard Cassius Winston, and four-star power forward Nick Ward. Together, the quartet makes up the top ranked recruiting class in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
People have long discussed Izzo’s success without landing the elite talent of schools like Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, and others. Somehow, someway, it feels like the Spartans are in the mix for a Final Four appearance every year and just happen to be peaking at the right time.
With this group of four prospects coming in next year, the expectation levels will be similar to what they always are, only Izzo will likely have the arsenal to live up to them right away.
