Milwaukee Brewers – Chicago Cubs Preview – 08.17.2016

In the third of a four-game series between the Chicago Cubs (75-43) and the Milwaukee Brewers (52-66) at Wrigley Field, Jon Lester (12-4, 2.93 ERA) and Jimmy Nelson (6-12, 4.07 ERA) take the mound. The Cubs won the last game 4-1, and Chicago leads the series 2-0. The game gets underway at 8:05 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 17 and will air on CSCh and FSWI.

In his last start, Lester pitched 6.0 innings, giving up two runs, striking out six and walking one in a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals. Kris Bryant (.290, 91 Rs, 28 HRs, 73 RBIs, 8 SBs) played well again yesterday, going 2 for 3 with one RBI. The Brewers were unsuccessful the last time Nelson pitched. He tossed 5.0 innings, allowing three runs, striking out seven and walking three in a 7-4 loss to the Reds. Chris Carter (.219, 56 Rs, 27 HRs, 66 RBIs, 2 SBs) went 1 for 3 yesterday.
