Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies Odds

Milwaukee (+120) is entering this game as the underdog against Colorado (-130) and Vegas has put the Over/Under for this game at 11.5 runs (-120 for the over and +100 for the under). Runline odds sit at -175 for taking the Brewers +1.5 runs and +155 for the Rockies -1.5.

The Rockies are planning to start lefty Kyle Freeland (2-4, 3.95 ERA), who’s got 38 strikeouts and 13 walks, as well as a 1.17 WHIP. Freeland only made one start against the Brewers in 2017 (0-1, 3.18 ERA and seven strikeouts across 5.2 innings).

Colorado’s pitchers have given up 4.6 runs per game overall in 2018 as a unit. Its starters have a 4.13 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 8.2 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 4.93 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9.1 K/9.

The Colorado hitters have put up 4.1 runs per outing, including 4.5 per game over its last 10 games and 3.8 per game over their last five. The team has a slash-line of .260/.349/.444 over its last five matchups and is 2-3 SU during that stretch.

The Rockies’ offense has been led by right fielder Charlie Blackmon and third baseman Nolan Arenado. Blackmon is hitting .285/.388/.585 with 11 home runs, 21 RBIs and 31 runs scored, while Arenado’s line is .309/.407/.577 with eight homers, 22 RBIs and 20 runs.

Blackmon particularly enjoyed hitting against righties at home last year. Across 234 such plate appearances, he slashed .381/.462/.787 (compared to his overall season line of .331/.399/.601).

For the visitors, Milwaukee’s pitching staff allowed 3.9 runs per game and its starters own a 4.28 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 6.67 K/9. The bullpen has an outstanding ERA of just 2.61, along with a WHIP of 1.33.

Lorenzo Cain and Jesus Aguilar have led Milwaukee’s hitters. Cain is slashing .293/.399/.474 with five home runs, 13 RBIs, 24 runs and eight stolen bases, while Aguilar (.348/.429/.522) is up to two homers, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
