MLB News: Mike Trout Has Minor Injury, David Price Ready to Return and More

Baseball’s best player, Mike Trout, took a day off Wednesday because of a foot injury, but his absence isn’t supposed to last long. Elsewhere, the Red Sox, desperate to make a playoff push, are getting back David Price for their pitching staff. In the same race, the A’s won’t have Matt Chapman for at least a couple of days. In Detroit, Ron Gardenhire would like a chance to keep rebuilding the Tigers. And in Cincinnati, the Punisher keeps on punishing.

The Angels are hoping Trout will be good to go Friday in Boston after missing Wednesday’s game and a team day off Thursday. He leads the Major Leagues with 43 home runs.

Speaking of the Angels’ series in Boston, David Price will return to start Sunday. The Red Sox, five games back of the second wild card, need all the help they can get.

The A’s said Chapman was OK after he took a fastball off his helmet Wednesday night, but he’s missing Thursday afternoon’s game with headaches.

Ron Gardenhire would like to stay with the Tigers. But does Detroit want someone else for the next stage of its rebuild?

Reds rookie Aristides Aquino had gone four whole games without homering. No more “drought.” His latest dinger set another record, too.
