There are still 35 games left in the Baltimore Orioles season, but they’ve already set an ignominious record. Speaking of ignominious, the Cubs bullpen suffered another blow when doctors declared Brandon Morrow out for the season. They suffered a couple of in-game blows, too, but this time the Chicago lineup picked up a victory anyway. The Mets might be without Marcus Stroman for a little while, and it had been a little while since the Dodgers had a walk-off win. OK, actually it hadn’t.
By the end of the year, the Orioles might own every negative home run record in the book.
The Orioles did it! Their pitching staff ties the major league record with 258 home runs allowed. And with only 35 games left. Magical season in Baltimore. https://t.co/aylqGK5dkU

The Cubs closer to start the year, Brandon Morrow, won’t be able to help their beleaguered bullpen anymore.

That bullpen blew two leads Wednesday against the Giants, but Kris Bryant hit a home run to rally them and closer Craig Kimbrel finally slammed the door for what Bryant called a “season-defining win”

Stroman left Wednesday’s Mets win over the Indians with hamstring tightness, but the team said it didn’t appear serious. He also seemed in a fine mood Thursday morning.

Kenley Jansen blew his second straight save, but that just gave the Dodgers a chance to win their 11th walk-off game of the season. They’re now 50-16 at home.
