In what’s becoming a familiar scene, umpires ejected Yankees manager Aaron Boone and outfielder Brett Gardner from Saturday’s game against the Indians. In other news, MLB finally punished Dodgers reliever Julio Urias for his domestic violence incident earlier this year. The Nationals need a new closer (who doesn’t?) and the Cubs might get theirs back.
Earlier this month, Gardner got the heave-ho without saying a word. It appears the Yankees have a recurring problem.

Meanwhile, with their own bullpen struggling, the Cubs reportedly will activate Craig Kimbrel for Sunday night’s game instead of choosing a rehab assignment.
From @EliasSports: Craig Kimbrel, who is expected to be activated today by the Cubs, has recorded a save in 90.5 percent of his career save opportunities, the third-highest rate all-time. The top three (minimum: 100 saves): Eric Gagne (91.7%), John Smoltz (91.1%) and Kimbrel.

In his first appearance in Arlington since his playing career, Josh Hamilton entered the Rangers Hall of Fame.
Rangers column: Josh Hamilton got that going-away ovation you felt was always the necessary coda on his career. Turns out, it wasn’t as necessary at it once was. https://t.co/5Wl1vfMciS
