MLB Playoffs: Royals and Orioles do battle in ALCS

MLB Playoffs: The ALCS starts on Friday as the Kansas City Royals visit the Baltimore Orioles. The best-of-seven game series will have the Orioles home for the first two games, the next three games in Kansas City while the last two would be in Baltimore. The Orioles opened up as -150 favorites in baseball playoffs odds to win this series. Let’s look at the matchup and the ALCS schedule.

Royals or Orioles

It is almost hard to believe that the World Series is going to start in either Kansas City or Baltimore. The Orioles haven’t hosted a World Series game since Pete Rose was still playing baseball while the Royals had not even played in any postseason game since 1985, the last time they hosted a World Series game.

The Kansas City Royals are really fortunate just to be in this position as they had a big comeback against the A’s and then got hot against the Angels. The team is really nothing special as they are 14th in the league in runs scored and 12th in runs allowed.

The Baltimore Orioles are no fluke as they were 8th in the league in runs scored and 7th in fewest runs allowed. They ran away with the American League East and dominated a good Detroit Tigers team in the last round. They are confident, well coached and ready for a World Series.
