MLB Predictions: AL East Leading Baltimore Orioles Favored at Home on Monday vs. the Toronto Blue Jays

MLB Betting:  The AL East leading Baltimore Orioles host the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday in the first game of a three-game series.  It is a huge series for Toronto as they still have slight hopes of getting the second Wild Card in the American League.  It won’t be easy to win in Baltimore though as the Orioles have one of the best home records in the American League.  Let’s look at the game and MLB predictions.

Probable Pitchers: Mark Buehrle vs. Wei-Yin Chen

The pitcher with the marquee name is Buehrle but the better pitcher this season is Chen.  Buherle finally got his 12th win of the season last time out as he beat the Cubs. He allowed two runs on 10 hits in seven innings.  It was his first win since late July.  Buehrle is 12-9 on the season with a 3.31 ERA but almost all of his good work came in the first couple of months of the season. He has been a little better lately with a 1-1 record and a 2.57 ERA in his last three starts. He has an 8-10 record in the last ten years against the Blue Jays with a 3.57 ERA.

Wei-Yin Chen has been really good for most of the season for Baltimore. He is now 15-4 on the season with a 3.59 ERA.  He allowed just one run last time out against Boston.  He has won eight of his last nine decisions and he could end up with the most wins of any American League pitcher this season.

Series Notes

The Orioles have won six of the last 10 in this series with six of the last seven going under.  The teams have split their last 10 in Toronto with the last four going under.

MLB Predictions

If Buehrle pitches well then this game should go under the total and there is no denying the trends which really point to a low scoring game in this series. We’ll look for the Baltimore Orioles to win this game and for it to go under the MLB betting total on Monday.
