MLB Predictions – High Scoring Game Expected on Friday as Los Angeles Angels visit Texas Rangers on MLB Network

MLB Betting:  The Los Angeles Angels visit the Texas Rangers on Friday in what could be a high scoring game on MLB Network.  The Angels are expected to send Hector Santiago on Friday and he continues to struggle. He has yet to win this season and his ERA is 4.50.  The Rangers will likely be sending Nick Tepesch and he has been inconsistent this season.  Here is a look at the matchup and MLB predictions.

High Scoring Angels

Los Angeles has been scoring a lot of runs this season as they are 2nd in the league in scoring, averaging almost 5 runs per game.  The Angels have arguably the best hitter in the game in Mike Trout and he is surrounded by other big names like Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton.  The Angels have the look of a team that is going to make the playoffs and they might even be able to push the A’s for the AL West title this season.  The key will be for them to get pitching as they are just 20th in the league in team ERA at 3.9 runs per game.

Rangers could be in Sell Mode

The Texas Rangers have had so many injuries this season that they have no real chance of making the playoffs. With the trading deadline approaching the team could be in sell mode.  The team simply doesn’t have the pitching to contend right now and their offense isn’t anything special. They have Adrian Beltre and that is about it.  The team is averaging 4.1 runs per game but they are allowing nearly 5 runs per game.

Game Notes

It should be Nick Tepesch going on Friday for the Rangers. He has been okay this season with an ERA under four but his overall numbers are nothing special and his record is right around .500. This is the second game of a four-game series. Before Thursday’s game it was the Rangers who had taken six of the last ten and they had owned the Angels in Texas, winning 9 of the last 10 with three of the last four going over.

MLB Predictions

We’ll expect a high scoring game on Friday that goes over the total.
