The MLS push for the playoffs continues with six games on the schedule for Saturday. While there are plenty of options to choose from, there is one matchup in particular that stands out. The New England Revolution have won six straight games and are undefeated in its last eight. There is every reason to think they can stay hot when they visit a Montreal Impact side that has just one win in its last six games. We’ll start there as we build our optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Bobby Shuttleworth, New England
Salary: $4,900
New England has allowed just three goals over its six-game winning streak, including three clean sheet victories. They’ll have an excellent opportunity to extend that hot streak versus Montreal. With the exception of a 4-3 win over the Chicago Fire, the Impact have been held to just two goals over its last five contests, so we have no problem plugging in Shuttleworth with the hope that he can shut them down.
D: Jeremy Hall, New England
Salary: $4,100
Sticking with the theme of the Revolution chasing a clean sheet win over Montreal, it makes sense to build our defender core around them including Hall at a very reasonable price. As much as we would like to invest in Chris Tierney as their top fantasy defender, it makes a lot more sense to go with Hall at just over $2K less and save the difference for later on when there is more value at other positions.
D: London Woodberry, New England
Salary: $3,700
We looked at other defenders like Omar Gonzalez and AJ DeLaGarza from the LA Galaxy but in the end, it makes sense to go with Woodberry and continue to bank on a Revolution win. Woodberry doesn’t have a very high offensive ceiling but he should help shut down the Montreal attack. At just $3.7K, he allows us to save even more money for more important positions where we will need it.
M: Diego Fagundez, New England
Salary: $6,900
Clearly we are already fully committed to cheering for the New England win but Fagundez would be an excellent option regardless of which team he played for since he is a quality fantasy midfielder that is available at under $7K. The matchup versus the Impact adds to his overall stock and it’s clear we are all-in on the Revolution to register a dominant win.
M: Harry Shipp, Chicago
Salary: $6,800
We will switch gears for the second midfielder option and go from the top team in the MLS Eastern Conference to a Chicago team that sits dead last in the standings. However, the Fire have averaged just over two goals per game over their last four contests despite recording just one win over that span. For fantasy purposes, we love Shipp’s potential as a sleeper play to produce against an Orlando City SC team that has just one win over its last seven games overall.
F: Kei Kamara, Columbus
Salary: $11,100
With value plays at the defender and midfielder positions, we can spend a little more on the top goal scorer in the MLS and plug in Kamara at our top forward spot. Kamara has paced all MLS scorers with 20 goals on the year and he has the potential to extend his lead ahead of Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco with Columbus relying on him to produce in a big game against DC United.

F: David Accam, Chicago
Salary: $7,300
We were torn between going all-in on the second forward position or saving enough money to add another key impact player at our FLEX spot, but Accam’s availability at just over $7K influenced us to go with the latter option. We feel we still get a quality contributor at this spot and enough money left over for the FLEX spot. Accam has scored in back-to-back games for the Fire to give him eight goals on the year and we like him as our second forward in a favorable matchup against Orlando City SC.
FLEX: Robbie Rogers, LA Galaxy
Salary: $5,200
Rogers might only have a goal and three assists this season but he has started five straight games for a Galaxy team that is due for a better result after being blanked in consecutive games. LA should find a way to break out of their scoreless drought against Real Salt Lake and Rogers should be in the mix as the player with the best potential that we can still fit with the remaining salary that we have available.
