The Major League Soccer season continues with six games on Saturday’s schedule. That is the perfect number to find the right balance between value plays and the star players that we will build our lineup around. Here is a look at our optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings MLS Daily Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Steve Clark, Columbus
Salary: $4,300
Clark doesn’t have the best fantasy numbers on the board heading in to this week but his stats are good enough to take him with a certainly favorable matchup. He’ll be facing a Colorado team that is buried at the bottom of the Western Conference standings heading in to this week. Clark won’t have to play at an elite level to potentially earn a clean sheet win against Colorado and he is available at a very good price in this spot.
D: Sean Franklin, DC United
Salary: $4,300
DC United is at the top of the standings for a number of reasons and one of them is the solid play of a defense crew that has conceded the second-fewest goals in the Eastern Conference this season. Franklin has been an excellent two-way defender and he is available at an excellent value price in this spot as they visit Montreal.
D: Hernan Grana, Columbus
Salary: $3,500
We can use the Crew’s favorable matchup with Colorado in a number of areas including on the back end where Grana is an excellent choice as our second defender at a discount price. We don’t need him to make a major impact at the offensive end of the pitch as long as Columbus can shut down the Colorado attack and win the game.
M: Ethan Finlay, Columbus
Salary: $8,600
Finlay has been the Crew’s most productive fantasy midfielder all season and considering he is listed at more than $2K less than the top midfielder on the board (Orlando SC’s Kaka), we have no problem with taking him in this spot. Columbus should score at least a couple of goals against Colorado and Finlay will continue to play an integral role in their offense.
M: Michael Bradley, Toronto FC
Salary: $5,600
Sebastian Giovinco has been one of the most dominant scorers in the MLS this season but considering his $13K price tag, we feel a lot more comfortable going with the midfielder that should be setting up Giovinco this weekend against Sporting KC. Toronto looked completely outmatched by New England in last week’s loss but they should bounce back with Bradley resuming his key role in the middle of the pitch at a very reasonable price to us on DraftKings.
F: Kei Kamara, Columbus
Salary: $10,900
Sticking with the theme of the favorable matchup for Columbus, it only makes sense to roll the dice with their star striker and the leading goal scorer in the MLS this season in Kamara. No other player has scored more goals than the 15 recorded by Kamara this year and he will be in an excellent position to add to that total against Colorado on Saturday.

F: Cyle Larin, Orlando
Salary: $8,800
Larin has taken the MLS by storm in terms of the MLS rookie goal scoring record and he has the potential to add to his first-year total when they take on Philadelphia on Saturday. Larin is a pure finisher that has exceeded every expectation set for him this season and the fact that he is available at under $9K makes him an excellent bargain play for this weekend.
FLEX: Justin Morrow, Toronto FC
Salary: $3,900
With exactly $4K left over, we are left with figuring out the best option left on the board that we can still afford with the remaining money that we have. Morrow isn’t an elite fantasy defender but he has the potential to put up a decent fantasy stat line at home this weekend, so we will plug him in to our lineup at the FLEX position and hope that Toronto can keep the Sporting KC attack in check on Saturday.
