The MLS slate for Saturday’s games is stocked with 14 teams in action and with so many options to choose from in DraftKings MLS Daily Fantasy Leagues, it can be difficult to narrow it down to the best possible starting XI. The good news is that we have done that for you with the optimal mix of star talent and sleeper plays in order to give you the best possible chance to win this weekend.
GK: Tally Hall, Orlando City SC
Salary: $4,000
Hall has given up a combined nine goals in his last two starts, so it only makes sense to avoid him in DraftKings MLS Daily Fantasy Leagues, right? Wrong. The reality is that Orlando City has looked terrible in a pair of tough losses to high scoring teams and while Hall only made two saves against Toronto FC in last week’s loss, he made eight saves the previous week against Seattle and is still a pretty good goalkeeper. Those two losses have driven Hall’s price point down but Orlando has an excellent chance to get back on track against a last-place Chicago team that has scored only 27 goals all season. That makes Hall a quality sleeper play for this weekend.
D: Justin Morrow, Toronto FC
Salary: $4,300
Morrow was one of the standout MLS defenders from last week when he scored his second goal of the season in Toronto’s 5-0 shutout win over Orlando City and he is a quality option again this weekend when they host Montreal. Morrow is still listed at just over $4K so he is a quality bargain play with the Impact in town on Saturday.
D: Kendall Waston, Vancouver
Salary: $3,600
Waston hasn’t scored a goal for Vancouver since late July but he is a constant option to move forward in to the attacking third. The fact that he is available at under $4K for a quality Whitecaps team makes him an excellent option here. Vancouver will be in tough visiting Houston this weekend but they are right behind the LA Galaxy at the top of the Western Conference standings for a reason and Waston is a quality pick for this second defender spot.
M: Javier Morales, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $9,100
Real Salt Lake has a tough test visiting FC Dallas this weekend as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive in the Western Conference. That means they will need their best player to step up the way he did in a big win over Seattle last week. Morales scored one of two RSL goals in the victory over the Sounders, so we will go back to him in this spot hoping he can deliver again.
M: Michael Bradley, Toronto FC
Salary: $6,300
It seems as though every week we talk about Bradley’s value as a central figure in a dangerous TFC attack that is available at under $7K but his DraftKings price hasn’t changed, so we will keep going back to him until it does. Bradley had two assists in last week’s win over Orlando City and we hope he can do the same against Montreal.

F: Cyle Larin, Orlando City SC
Salary: $9,400
The well has gone dry for Larin since he matched the MLS rookie goal scoring record with his 10th and 11th goals of the season in a 5-2 win over Columbus on August 1st. The entire Orlando team has struggled but they have a favorable matchup against Chicago this weekend. We like Larin to finally break through and set a new rookie mark with his first marker in five games and rookie-record 12th of the year.
F: Will Bruin, Houston
Salary: $7,500
Houston will undoubtedly be in tough against Vancouver but they are fighting for a playoff spot and will need Bruin to produce for them up front. The Dynamo striker scored his 10th goal of the season and added an assist in a 2-2 draw with Portland in their last game. With Bruin listed at under $8K for this week’s game, we are hoping that we will reward us for our investment as a bargain play at the forward position.
FLEX: Boniek Garcia, Houston
Salary: $5,200
Garcia also scored in that draw with Portland and while he only has three goals and two assists this season, he is also available at a decent price at just over $5K. There are other options on the board but we feel like in a desperate spot Garcia has the best chance to produce in our FLEX spot with the money that we have left over to spend on this final position.
