MLS Fantasy: Week 12 Fantasy Lineup

The MLS season continues this weekend with eight games on the schedule for Saturday and that means plenty of options to choose from when it comes to building a winning MLS fantasy lineup in DraftKings tournaments. We have taken the time to find the best combination of star talent and strong sleeper options in order to present you with the best possible combination for this weekend. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings MLS fantasy tournaments.

GK: David Ousted, Vancouver

Salary: $4,500

Vancouver had its win streak ended at three in a 4-2 loss to Portland but we like them to bounce back against a Houston side that currently sits at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. The Whitecaps simply have to play better in their own end and we like Ousted to deliver a solid performance in a bounce back win.

D: Jordan Harvey, Vancouver

Salary: $3,800

Harvey could benefit form the clean sheet bonus if the Whitecaps can cut down the amount of opportunities they allow from the Dynamo on Saturday. Harvey should be a lock to play the full 90 minutes versus Houston and he has already made his mark offensively this year with a pair of goals.

D: Nat Borchers, Portland

Salary: $3,500

The Timbers snapped a three-game slide with an impressive win over Vancouver and will look to build on it against a Chicago side that currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Borcher has shown an ability to contribute offensively with a goal and an assist already this season and the clean sheet bonus could be in play against the Fire.

D: Richie Marquez, Philadelphia

Salary: $3,100

Marquez delivered for Philadelphia in a major way last week with a late goal that made the difference in a 1-0 win over DC United. The Union will look to build on that victory when they face Colorado in a showdown between the top teams in their respective conferences and we like turning back to Marquez in a pressure situation as a strong value option at just $3.1K.

M: Kelyn Rowe, New England

Salary: $5,900

The Revolution has just one victory in its last eight but they will have an excellent opportunity to get back in the win column this weekend when they face a Seattle side that that has struggled nearly as much so far this year. Rowe has registered just three points so far but he has fired 26 shots off and probably should have at least a couple more points at this point so look at him as a strong pick to break through on Saturday.

M: Pedro Morales, Vancouver

Salary: $5,200

Morales leads the Whitecaps in scoring so far this season with six goals on 19 shots. The star midfielder should have plenty of opportunities to add to his goal total this weekend and we like him to deliver a strong MLS fantasy performance against the Dynamo.

M: Fatai Alashe, San Jose

Salary: $3,100

San Jose is in a playoff position through 12 games and if they are going to maintain that spot throughout the year they will need their key role players to continue to step up. Alashe is one of those players and he will make for an excellent value option at just $3.1K this weekend against FC Dallas.

F: C.J. Sapong, Philadelphia

Salary: $6,400

Philadelphia will be in tough against the Rapids but we expect them to bring their best game against their toughest opponent with Sapong leading the way up front. Sapong has scored a team-leading five goals with an assist already this year and we like him to build on his strong start this weekend.

F: Tesho Akindele, FC Dallas

Salary: $4,600

Akindele is tied with Michael Barrios for the team lead with five goals on 12 shots with a pair of assists that has him at a team-leading seven points this season. FC Dallas will look to keep the pressure on Colorado at the top of the Western Conference this weekend and they will be leaning on Akindele to deliver another strong performance.

FLEX: Joao Plata, Real Salt Lake

Salary: $6,100

Real Salt Lake is 4-0 at home so far this season and in an excellent position to add to its perfect start at home against a Columbus side that has yet to win on the road so far this year. Plata has led the way for RSL with four goals and four assists with 10 shots and we like him in this spot as we spend a little more money to lock up a quality forward at the FLEX position.

FLEX: Alex Sjoberg, Colorado

Salary: $3,100

Sjoberg hasn’t been shy about pushing forward for Colorado this year as he already has a goal and an assist to his name. The Rapids need to be at their very best in a key clash with the Union and Sjoberg offers us tremendous upside as an excellent defender MLS fantasy option at just $3.1K.
