MLS Fantasy: Week 25 Fantasy Lineup

The MLS returns with seven games on the schedule this Saturday. That means there will be plenty of options to choose from when it comes to building a winning lineup in DraftKings tournaments. We took the time to break down the rosters and find the perfect combination of star talent and strong value plays. Here is a look at our optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings MLS fantasy tournaments.

GK: Alex Bono, Toronto FC

Salary: $3,900

Toronto FC has climbed to second in the Eastern Conference standings with a five-game undefeated streak that includes four wins. TFC has established itself as the best defensive team in the Eastern Conference with just 25 goals allowed this season, and they will be at their best defensively in a key game against Philadelphia on Saturday. Bono is still listed at a very reasonable price on DraftKings and we consider him a no brainer for our goalkeeper position this weekend.

D: Drew Moor, Toronto FC

Salary: $3,900

Moor has been a big part of Toronto’s strong defensive play this season and he has shown flashes of his potential at the offensive end as well with a pair of goals. Moor is also a strong value play at just $3.9K and the fact that he is so inexpensive makes him a strong value option at the defender position. Toronto FC has allowed just 25 goals in 24 games this season, which is by far the best number in the Eastern Conference. To put that in perspective, only one other team has allowed less than 32 markers in the East.

D: Laurent Ciman, Montreal

Salary: $3,700

Speaking of smart value plays for Saturday, Ciman certainly fits the bill for Montreal with the Impact set to visit Chicago. The Fire currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 19 points and their 22 goals scored is the fewest in the MLS. That makes Ciman a smart value option with the potential for him to benefit from a potential clean sheet bonus this weekend.

M: Frank Lampard, New York City FC

Salary: $6,700

Lampard has really picked up his production of late for NYCFC, raising his season totals to nine goals and an assist in 13 games played. The veteran midfielder is still listed at under $7K in DraftKings tournaments and that makes him an excellent value option for MLS fantasy this weekend.

M: Marco Delgado, Toronto FC

Salary: $4,300

Delgado has shown flashes of his potential to contribute on offense and at just $4.3K, the upside is high enough to take a chance on him this weekend. Delgado has been held to just three points so far this season but we are banking on a breakthrough performance in a key game against Philadelphia on Saturday.

F: Sebastian Giovinco, Toronto FC

Salary: $14,500

Giovinco has been on an absolute tear of late and while that has led to his DraftKings salary spiking to over $14K, it still isn’t enough to convince us to look elsewhere for our top forward option. The smart value options throughout our lineup allows us to spend big on Giovinco as he looks to build on his league-high 15 goals and 11 assists in 23 games this season. This is a big expense for us but we’re getting one of the hottest players – and most productive in MLS fantasy – right now.

F: Kei Kamara, New England

Salary: $9,400

Kamara is one of the most talented forwards in the MLS and while he has been held to four goals so far this season there is a good chance he delivers in a favorable matchup versus Columbus this weekend. Kamara is an excellent second option at the forward position and it actually won’t surprise us if he is among the top MLS fantasy producers on Saturday regardless of position.

FLEX: Jose Goncalves, New England

Salary: $3,300

Goncalves might not offer much in terms of offensive production but he has been one of New England’s most consistent defenders all season. At just $3.3K, Goncalves is a very reliable sleeper value option that allows us to spend more at the midfield and forward positions in order to build the best possible starting lineup for Saturday’s MLS fantasy contests.
