The MLS fantasy season continues this Saturday with seven games on the schedule and that means plenty of options available in DraftKings tournaments. It won’t be easy to find the perfect combination of star talent and strong sleeper options so we took the time to build the perfect lineup for this week’s competitions. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings MLS Daily Fantasy Leagues
GK: Nick Rimando, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $4,300
Real Salt Lake is 3-0-0 at home so far this season with just one goal allowed and there is a good chance they will extend that win streak with the Houston Dynamo in town. Rimando has been terrific for RSL so far this year and we have him pegged as the top goalkeeper option for this week’s DraftKings contests.
D: Jamison Olave, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $2,800
It only makes sense to build on the favorable matchup for RSL at the defender position beginning with an excellent sleeper option in Olave. The veteran Olave has one assist and six shots through four appearances this season so there is some offensive upside there in addition to the potential for a clean sheet bonus.
D: Chris Wingert, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $2,800
Wingert doesn’t have the same offensive upside as Olave but he is also available at $2.8K and that makes him worth taking a chance on in DraftKings tournaments. RSL is favored to take care of business at home versus Houston on Saturday and a clean sheet victory would provide our lineup with a substantial boost in fantasy points.
D: Michael Parkhurst, Columbus
Salary: $2,800
Parkhurst has played in all seven games for Columbus so far this season and he is a big reason why they have held opponents to just nine goals in total. Parkhurst doesn’t have substantial offensive upside like Olave does but he is available at just $2.8K with the Crew looking to take advantage of a favorable matchup at Seattle.
M: Javier Morales, Real Salt Lake
Salary: $6,700
It didn’t take long for us to turn back to Real Salt Lake’s favorable matchup with Morales on the brink of breaking through in the midfield. Morales had a goal for RSL in their most recent win over the LA Galaxy and we are banking on another strong performance versus Houston this weekend.
M: Ethan Finlay, Columbus
Salary: $6,600
Finlay has been excellent for Columbus early on with three points and 12 shots in his first seven games of the season. The Sounders have just one win through their first seven games of the season so this should be a favorable matchup for Finlay to produce a decent stat line.
M: Patrick Nyarko, DC United
Salary: $4,300
Nyarko has been limited to just a single goal through his first seven games but he has 10 shots and it is only a matter of time before he starts to find the back of the net on a more consistent basis. DC United has a favorable matchup at Chicago this week and that could make Nyarko an excellent value option in the midfield.
F: Didier Drogba, Montreal
Salary: $7,300
Drogba has been limited to just three games for Montreal so far this season but he has averaged 3.3 shots per game with a goal already this season. The Impact are set for a tough matchup versus Colorado and they will need their most lethal striker at his best in order to come out on top against the Rapids.
F: Chris Wondolowski, San Jose
Salary: $7,200
Wondolowski is another excellent striker option for Saturday’s DraftKings tournaments and with a pair of decent value FLEX options locked in we know that we can afford him as our second forward. Wondolowski has opened the season with seven goals in his first eight games and we are banking on him delivering another strong performance against Philadelphia on Saturday.
FLEX: Tyson Wahl, Columbus
Salary: $2,600
Wahl isn’t an elite offensive option but he has been solid on the back line for Columbus and the fact that he is available at just $2.6K makes him a strong FLEX play for Saturday’s matchup with Seattle.
FLEX: Tommy Redding, Orlando City SC
Salary: $2,600
Redding has been a solid defensive option for Orlando City SC and should be a strong pick as a sleeper value play for Saturday’s DraftKings tournaments. New England has been limited to just eight goals in eight games to this point so the clean sheet bonus could be in play with Redding as our final FLEX play for Saturday.
