If you’ve been to a football game at the University of Florida, you’ve heard the ‘Two Bits’ cheer. It’s been a staple of Florida home games for seven decades, and every member of Gator Nation knows it by heart. Sadly, the creator of that chant passed away on Wednesday.
George Edmondson, better known as Mr. Two Bits, passed away at the age of 97. Edmondson came up with the chant all the way back in 1949 during a Gators’ home game against The Citadel when other fans in the stand were booing the Gators. For decades, he led the chant from both the stands and the field before officially retiring from the role in 2008. Since then, notable Gator alumni have been designated to lead the chant at every game, continuing an incredible tradition.

Caden Davis celebrated the Fourth of July the right way. Davis has one of the biggest legs of any kicker in the country, and he used it to crush a 76-yard field goal through the uprights at Kyle Field. He signed with the Aggies as an early enrollee back in January, and we will definitely be seeing him on the field as a freshman. Davis was the second-highest rated kicker in the Class of 2019 per 247 Sports.

Miami fans are known for their animosity toward other schools, other players, and just anything that isn’t the U, and one of their blogs is asking fans which opponent on their schedule in 2019 is most hated. Both Florida and Florida State are on the schedule, and those are the typical answers when you ask Miami fans who they dislike the most, but there is some disdain for schools you wouldn’t expect. Pittsburgh ruined Miami’s bid for an undefeated season in 2017 and Georgia Tech has frustrated the Hurricanes quite often since Miami joined the ACC.
