Race Handicapping
Brad Keselowski is the defending champion and considering how well Penske has been this season he should have a good chance to win on Saturday night. His teammate, Joey Logano won last week so he could be a contender although he has no reason to take chances now that his spot in the next round is secure. Keselowski would seem to be the better choice and he comes in as the defending champ. “The first thing that comes to mind is that we won this race last year. That is a nice confidence booster.” Keselowski said, “We have a strong intermediate track platform, and the No. 2 Detroit Genuine Parts team has been performing well this season.”
This is a huge week for Johnson, Keselowski, Earnhardt Jr., and Kasey Kahne. Those four drivers need strong finishes on Saturday to get back into Chase contention. After next week’s race at Talladega the field will go down from 12 to 8 Chase contenders.
NASCAR Picks
Keselowski is the top choice to win this race and we get him at odds of 5-1. A nice longshot would be Kasey Kahne at double-digit odds.
