The NBA season is well underway and we have seen some pretty interesting storylines develop. In the Eastern Conference, the Bucks and Hornets have been rewarding their backers while the Nuggets, Trailblazers, Kings, and Grizzlies have been doing the same in the Western Conference. On the flip side, the Wizards and Rockets have been sucking the money out of the wallets of their backers at a rapid pace. Let’s look at some of the best upcoming matchups from an NBA betting perspective.
Boston Celtics at Denver Nuggets – Monday, November 5th.
The 6-3 Boston Celtics will need a big-time effort when they go into Denver to face the surprising 8-1 Nuggets. The Celtics are coming off a very close loss to the Pacers which snapped their four-game winning streak. When playing on the road, the Celtics tend to be a streaky team, good at producing unders.

As for the Nuggets, they have been winning and their 6-3 ATS record has made money for their backers. They have also been cashing it in for under bettors. The under is 7-1-1 so far and it’s 4-1 in their five home games. Why go against the trend?
My Pick: Under
New Orleans Pelicans at Oklahoma City Thunder – Monday, November 5th
New Orleans got off to a strong start but has since crashed hard and has lost five in a row. Anyone who has had the misfortune of backing them against the spread has taken a severe hit as the Pelicans are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games.
On the flip side of the coin, we have the Oklahoma City Thunder who has reeled off four straight wins and compiled a 3-1 ATS record in those games. This is another case of taking a team on a winning streak over a team on a losing streak.
My Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder ATS
Philadelphia 76ers at Indiana Pacers – Wednesday, November 7th
Philadelphia was expected to be tough in their division and they certainly appear to be so far. They are sitting in third place behind Toronto and Boston and are just 3-5 ATS in their last eight games. It might not be time to panic but they sure need to pick up their play on the road where they are winless in their last four and haven’t covered in their last five.
Indiana is off to a pretty strong start sitting second in their division behind the upstart Bucks. They are 3-1 SU and ATS at home this year and they have been a very strong ATS bet at home dating back to last season. Coincidentally, they have also been a good under bet at home too.
My Pick: Indiana Pacers ATS
Milwaukee Bucks at Golden State Warriors – Thursday, November 8th
In what is shaping up to be one of the best games of the week, the fast-starting Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to Golden State to face the high-octane Warriors. Milwaukee’s 5-2-1 ATS record has made a profit for their backers and those who have been wagering on the over in their games are thrilled with them eclipsing the total in six of their eight games. Both times that the Bucks failed to cover the spread were on the road.
Golden State is a perfect 5-0 at this year and has covered their last four at home. Like the Bucks, the Warriors are scoring a lot of points and this tilt should see a lot of scoring. It’s a small sample size but two of the Bucks’ three road games have gone over the total as have two of Golden State’s last three home games. It will be raining points.
My Pick: Over
Charlotte Hornets at Detroit Pistons – Sunday, November 11th
The Detroit Pistons enter the week with a 4-4 SU record and 3-5 ATS after starting the season with four straight wins. They might be 3-1 SU at home but they have just one home cover so far and they haven’t been the most reliable team to back ATS at home dating back to last season.
The Pistons will have their hands full with the Charlotte Hornets who might only be sitting at a mediocre 5-5 but are tearing it up with a 7-3 ATS record. While two of their three ATS losses came on the road, Charlotte is the hotter team. All that aside, the stronger trend is definitely the history of overs that these two teams have when they meet in Detroit. The over is 11-1-1 in Charlotte’s last 13 visits to Detroit. I’ll ride that wave.
My Pick: Over
