After being limited to just four games on Tuesday, the NBA will return with an absolutely loaded slate for Wednesday with 11 games on the schedule. That will mean plenty of options to choose from when it comes to finding the perfect balance between superstar talent and sleeper value plays but it will be important to hit on the best options on the board and avoid the trap of making the wrong choices. Here is some important NBA daily fantasy advice to consider for Wednesday’s NBA action.
Weak Defense To Target: Sacramento Kings
The Kings have owned the worst scoring defense in the NBA for almost the entire season with an average of 108.3 points per game but Wednesday’s matchup creates even more reason to target them as they visit the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers haven’t exactly contended for a playoff spot during the Kobe Bryant farewell tour but they do have some value sleeper options worth considering when they match up against the NBA’s worst scoring defense. Jordan Clarkson continues to start at the point guard position but D’Angelo Russell has put up some decent numbers of late as well so don’t be shy to plug in either one of them in Wednesday’s Daily Fantasy Leagues.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
There is no doubt the reigning NBA MVP is one of the best fantasy options on the board pretty much every night but he has been absolutely on fire of late and that makes him worth locking in as the superstar that you build your lineup around for Wednesday’s NBA action. Curry leads the NBA with a ridiculous 34.3 points per game over the last week of action and as if that isn’t good enough he has also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals and an unbelievable 6.8 three-point shots per game over that span. Curry is playing at an absolutely elite level right now and there is no way to avoid having him in your lineup when the Warriors visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday if you want to win in your Daily Fantasy League action.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Elfrid Payton, Tyler Johnson
Orlando Magic point guard Victor Oladipo is dealing with a sprained knee and has already been ruled out of Wednesday game with the Philadelphia 76ers. That should allow Elfrid Payton to play a bigger role in this spot. Payton put together an impressive game against the Atlanta Hawks the other night when he scored 16 points with five assists, two rebounds and a steal. In his only other meeting with the 76ers this season, Payton had 20 points, five assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block in 33 minutes of action. Look for him to play about those same minutes, which makes him a strong sleeper option against the lowly Sixers on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Gerald Green and Beno Udrih remain banged up for the Miami Heat, which means Tyler Johnson is a quality sleeper value option as well. Due to the injuries, he’s seen an uptick of his minutes averaging 32.2 per outing over his last five. He has averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 three-point shots per game over the last week of action. He doesn’t offer much in the way of blocks or steals, but he’ll give you points, some rebounds and assists, and a three here and there. Look for him to produce a similar stat line what he’s done over the last week in a plus matchup versus the Washington Wizards in NBA daily fantasy on Wednesday night.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: CHA @ OKC
Only the Warriors have averages more points per game than the 108.5 average that the Oklahoma City Thunder have registered this year while the Charlotte Hornets are right there on the outside of the top-10 with an average of 101.7 points per game this season. Kemba Walker has been absolutely on fire for the Hornets of late and is worth consideration while Frank Kaminsky III might be the best sleeper option from Charlotte. Meanwhile, it’s no secret that Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook continue to dominate for the Thunder but Steven Adams remains a quality sleeper option for those looking to capitalize on the matchup with a player from the Oklahoma City roster.
