The Golden State Warriors will have the opportunity to push their perfect home record to 32 straight wins and continue their pursuit of the best record in NBA history when they host the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. The Warriors should be a lock to take down the Knicks, but it is worth pointing out that the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers are among the six teams that have handed them a loss this season. That won’t keep us from betting on Golden State to win, but with the potential for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to play limited minutes in a projected blowout win, we will look elsewhere when it comes to building our optimal roster in DraftKings Daily NBA Fantasy Leagues. Here is some important fantasy advice to consider for Wednesday’s NBA action.
Weak Defense To Target: Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings own the worst defense in the NBA with an average of 109.5 points allowed per game this season so it only makes sense to target them. The New Orleans Pelicans have several options to consider including of course Anthony Davis,, but with the favorable matchup it makes more sense to target strong value options instead. Toney Douglas has averaged 13.3 points, 5.8 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 three-point shots and 1.3 steals per game over the last week of action and should be a strong value option. Meanwhile, Luke Babbitt has quietly averaged 10.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game over that same span and is a sleeper option that is certainly worth considering for Wednesday’s NBA action.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Isaiah Thomas, Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have climbed to third in the Eastern Conference standings thanks in big part to the play of Isaiah Thomas, who has been absolutely on fire of late. Thomas has averaged 26.0 points, 3.5 three-point shots, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game over the last seven days and the fact that he isn’t as expensive as some of the other star options on DraftKings makes him that much more attractive of a play. The Celtics will need a big performance from Thomas with the Oklahoma City Thunder in town on Wednesday so it only makes sense to ride the hot hand.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Courtney Lee, JaMychal Green
The Charlotte Hornets have given Courtney Lee more than 30 minutes per game over the last seven days and he has rewarded them with some strong production. Lee has averaged 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 three-point shots and 1.0 steal per game over that span and should be a strong value option with Charlotte set to host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, JaMychal Green has averaged 12.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over the last week for the Memphis Grizzlies and his relatively low price tag makes him an excellent option in Daily NBA Fantasy Leagues. The Minnesota Timberwolves have struggled defensively all season and Green should produce a strong NBA fantasy stat line against them on Wednesday night.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: LAC @ HOU
The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers rank fourth and sixth respectively in points per game this season. There is a very good chance they combine for the highest scoring game of the night on Wednesday. James Harden and Chris Paul are obvious NBA fantasy studs,, but they are also among the most expensive options on the board. Michael Beasley has put up some decent numbers over the past two weeks and could be a strong value option from the Rockets worth considering. Beasley has averaged 10.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game over that span and could easily top those averages against Los Angeles on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jeff Green has really stepped up his production over the last week and could be an option for anybody that thinks he can really thrive against the Rockets. Green has averaged 15.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 three-point shots per game over the last seven days and his reasonable price tag combined with the matchup could make him worth taking a flyer on in Daily Fantasy Leagues.
