NBA Fantasy: Advice For Daily Leagues On Tuesday

There will be five games on the schedule in the NBA on Tuesday night. That seems like the perfect number for NBA Fantasy Leagues with a good balance between superstar options and strong value plays. Here is some important advice to consider for Tuesday’s NBA fantasy action.

Weak Defense To Target: Sacramento Kings

Sacramento is coming off consecutive wins,, but they still rank dead-last in the NBA with an average of 109.1 points allowed per game this season and that makes them worth targeting when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Danilo Gallinari continues to play at a high level as the highest-priced fantasy option from the Nuggets, but Will Barton might provide the better value against the Kings. Barton has averaged 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 three-point shot per game over the last week of action and is available at a very decent price tag.

Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans

No player is hotter right now than Davis, who is the one superstar that should be in every fantasy lineup on Tuesday night. Davis has averaged 46.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1.0 steal and 1.0 three-point shot per game over the last seven days. If you’re thinking that that’s too small of a sample size to be trumpeting such an impressive fantasy run, take a look at this incredible numbers for February. This month, Davis has scored under 23 points just once while averaging 30.7 per contest. He’s also giving you 9.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 steals, 6.1 free throws and a 56.3% field goal percentage. He’s probably the most valuable player in NBA fantasy right now. He has the potential to put together another absolutely dominant performance when the Pelicans visit the Washington Wizards, who have been one of the league’s worst defensive teams this year.

Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Brandon Jennings, Maurice Harkless

The Orlando Magic should continue to give Brandon Jennings more opportunities than he had with the Detroit Pistons, which means more opportunities to cash in for NBA fantasy. He has put up some decent numbers in his last two games with his new team, averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 three-point shots and 1.0 steal per game over the last seven days. He should be a decent value option when the Magic visit the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers are, of course, a pathetic farce of an NBA team and are always a team you want to target in fantasy.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers continue to ride the hot hand in Maurice Harkless and he has provided some decent averages over the past couple of weeks. Harkless has averaged 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 three-point shot per game over the past seven days. Remember, this was a former first-round pick, so he’s always been thought of having a high ceiling. Now he’s finally getting the right coaching and the proper dosage of minutes. He should continue to produce with the Brooklyn Nets in town on Tuesday night. The Nets have been deplorable at the defensive end this season, which makes them a team you always want to start players against in NBA fantasy.

Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: HOU @ UTA

Houston ranks fifth in the NBA with an average of 105.2 points per game this season and while the Utah Jazz are 25th in scoring, they should be able to put up some decent numbers against the Rockets’ 27th-ranked defense. The Jazz have dropped three of four but their offense is playing well, scoring 113.0 points per game over their last two.

James Harden is the obvious superstar option for Houston, but Trevor Ariza is also worth considering. Ariza has averaged 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals, 4.0 three-point shots and 3.0 assists per game over the last week of action and that makes him a strong value play. Meanwhile, a change of scenery seems to be working out for Shelvin Mack so far and he is another decent value option from the Jazz. Mack scored 16 points with six assists, three rebounds and a block in his debut for Utah and is worth taking a flier on against the Rockets’ defense on Tuesday night.
