After a busy night on Monday, the NBA daily fantasy schedule dwindles down dramatically for Tuesday night with only eight teams in action. That doesn’t mean there won’t be an excellent opportunity to make some serious cash in Daily Fantasy Leagues. The lighter slate simply means less room for error when it comes to finding the perfect balance between superstar players and quality sleeper value options so make sure you consider the following advice when it comes to building your optimal NBA daily fantasy lineup for Tuesday’s action.
Weak Defense To Target: New Orleans Pelicans
The Minnesota Timberwolves have dropped nine of their last 10 games and they will be in tough to beat New Orleans on the road on Tuesday night but with New Orleans ranked 27th in the NBA with an average of 105.5 points allowed per game it will be an excellent opportunity to use Minnesota players in an effort to target the Pelicans’ weak defense. Andrew Wiggins would be the obvious choice for the Timberwolves but it’s also worth considering both Shabazz Muhammad and Zach LaVine as quality sleeper options with the potential to play at a much higher level than their price tag would indicate as they visit one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder
Durant has deal with his share of injuries over the past couple of years but he is finally at full strength right now and he has been absolutely on fire over the past couple of weeks so he is worth targeting as one of the top superstars on the board for Tuesday’s Daily Fantasy Leagues. Durant has averaged 26.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.5 three-point shots and 1.5 steals per game over the past seven days and he should produce another outstanding fantasy stat line when the Thunder visit the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Tyler Johnson, Gary Harris
Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic underwent an MRI on his injured left leg late last week and while there was no major structural damage, a calf strain will keep him out for at least one week. That means Tyler Johnson will continue to play big minutes for the Heat and that will make him an excellent value option for Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Johnson has averaged 13.0 points, 4.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game over the past week of action. When taking a look at what he’s done as a starter this season (five games), he’s played 33.4 minutes per game while averaging 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 threes and 0.6 steals. He should register another solid NBA daily fantasy stat line against Milwaukee, who have been an underwhelming defensive team this season.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have given Gary Harris upwards of 38.0 minutes per game over the last week of action and he has rewarded them with some solid numbers across the board. Harris has averaged 16.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 three-point shot per game over the last week of action. He has scored in double-figures in eight of his last nine games and he will be a strong value option when Denver hosts the Thunder on Tuesday night.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: IND @ PHX
The Thunder and Nuggets could challenge for the highest scoring game of the night but we like the matchup between the Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns as the best bet to lead the way on Tuesday night as both teams rank in the top-11 in the NBA in points per game this season. Paul George has been on fire for the Pacers this season but Monta Ellis is another decent value option as a player that has finally started to find his rhythm in Indiana of late. Meanwhile, Brandon Knight has been the Suns’ best player but Mirza Teletovic has emerged as another quality sleeper option for Phoenix with TJ Warren another sleeper pick worth considering if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive option to fill out your roster with for Tuesday night.
