The push for the NBA playoffs continues and we’re heading down the home stretch in NBA fantasy. There are six games on the schedule for Saturday, including an intriguing matchup with the Houston Rockets set to visit the Cleveland Cavaliers. That means there will be more than enough teams to choose from when it comes to building your roster in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. We have done the dirty work and prepared some information that could help give you an edge. Here is some important fantasy advice to consider for Tuesday’s NBA action.
Weak Defense To Target: Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have won only seven of their 34 road games this season and they rank 22nd overall in the NBA with an average of 104.7 points allowed per game. That means they should be vulnerable defensively when they host the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. Victor Oladipo has been Orlando’s most consistent fantasy stud but he is also banged up so the better option might be the strong value play in Elfrid Payton, who has contributed with some decent averages across the board. Payton has averaged 11.8 points, 7.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game over the last seven days and he should deliver a strong performance with Oladipo banged up and the Nets in town.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
LeBron James has been one of the most intriguing players in the NBA to watch both on and off the floor of late. Off the floor he continues to turn heads with his social media antics but on the floor he has responded well to a challenge issued by head coach Tyronn Lue. LeBron has averaged 29.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.3 three-point shots and 1.0 steal per game over the last seven days. There is no reason to think his production will slow with the Rockets in town so ride the hot hand for Tuesday’s Daily Fantasy Leagues.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Nikola Mirotic, Courtney Lee
The Chicago Bulls are starting to get healthy again but that hasn’t slowed Nikola Mirotic’s production as he has put up some solid numbers while averaging 24.8 minutes per game over the past week of action. Mirotic has recorded 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 three-point shots and 1.3 assists per game over the past week and should be a trustworthy option for Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
Meanwhile, Courtney Lee has been very consistent for the Charlotte Hornets of late and is another strong vale option. The key for him is playing time. In February, when he split time between Memphis and Charlotte, he only played 27.1 minutes. He’s up to 30 in March and that’s made a huge difference. He only hit double figures twice in March, but he’s scored in double figures in seven of his last 11 games. Lee has averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 three-point shots per game over the past seven days and is definitely worth considering in NBA fantasy when the Hornets visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: WAS @ GS
The Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards rank 1st and 10th in the NBA in points per game this season so it won’t be a surprise if they combine for the highest scoring game of the night on Tuesday. The problem is that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are among the most expensive options on the board and it’s hard to trust the next best options from Golden State in Daily Fantasy Leagues. The smarter idea is to target players from the Wizards with two strong value options to consider. Otto Porter Jr. has averaged 13.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.7 three-point shots and 1.3 assists per game over the last week of action and is very reasonably priced based on those numbers. Meanwhile, Marcus Thornton could be worth considering as a sleeper option if you are looking for a player with a low price tag and high upside. Thornton has averaged 13.0 points, 2.5 three-point shots, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assist per game over the last seven days so consider him if you are low in cap space and looking to take a flier on a potentially strong value option to capitalize on this matchup.
