The fact that the Golden State Warriors lead the Western Conference standings by only 3.5 games despite the fact that they are on pace to finish with the best record in NBA history is testament to the strength of the San Antonio Warriors this season. San Antonio is 56-10 this year, including an NBA-best 32-0 record at home. The Spurs are one of 12 teams in action on Tuesday night and while they might very well be involved in the highest scoring game of the night, the fact that their offensive production is so concentrated makes it hard to count on them in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. Here is some other important NBA fantasy advice to consider for Tuesday’s action.
Weak Defense To Target: Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers have recorded just three wins in 33 road games this season – two fewer than the Los Angeles Lakers for the worst mark in the NBA this season. Philadelphia has allowed an average of 107.3 points per game this year to rank 28th in the NBA in that department so it only makes sense to target them on the road when they visit the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night. The Nets aren’t a playoff team by any means, but a handful of players on Brooklyn’s roster should be able to register decent NBA fantasy numbers against the 76ers. Brook Lopez has been the Nets’ most consistent player, but he is also their most expensive on DraftKings. Bojan Bogdanovic might be the better option as a decent value play based on his numbers over the last 15 days. Bogdanovic has averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 three-point shots per game over that span and is still available at a decent enough price to take advantage of the matchup.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have dropped five straight, but that has had little to do with Cousins, who has been absolutely on fire of late. Cousins has averaged 29.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.0 block per game over the last two weeks. Cousins is one of the most expensive options on the board, but with a favorable matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers it is hard to argue against having him in your lineup as the superstar you will want to build around for Tuesday’s DraftKings contests.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Aaron Gordon, Isaiah Canaan
Orlando Magic big man Aaron Gordon stole the show at the NBA Slam Dunk contest and he has followed that up with some impressive numbers since the All-Star break. Most recently, Gordon has averaged 31.0 minutes per game over the past seven days for the Magic and he has responded with some solid NBA fantasy numbers. Gordon has averaged 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game over that span so it makes sense to ride the hot hand with the Magic set to host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the 76ers won’t win many games, but Canaan has averaged 28.0 minutes per game over the last week of action and he has responded with good enough numbers to make him a decent value option for Tuesday night’s game against the Nets. Canaan has averaged 13.3 points, 2.7 three-point shots, 2.0 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game over that span and is available at a very decent rate on DraftKings.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: LAC @ SAS
The Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers are tied for the sixth-highest scoring offenses in the NBA this season, but other than LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard it is difficult to trust anybody on the Spurs’ roster on a nightly basis right now. That means it is worth leaning on the Clippers to take advantage of this matchup with a couple of strong value options to choose from. JJ Redick has averaged 18.3 points, 3.1 three-point shots, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game over the past 15 days and is a decent mid-tier option in this matchup. Meanwhile, Jeff Green has averaged 9.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 three-point shot over that same span and could be worth taking a chance on in what should be the highest scoring matchup of the night.
