NBA Fantasy: Daily League Advice For Saturday

It’s a busy day for NBA fantasy with our Saturday loaded with 10 games on the schedule. That means plenty of options when it comes to building a winning lineup in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. The only tough part now is narrowing down the best possible options on the board in order to have best possible combination of star players and strong value options. Here is some important fantasy advice to consider for Saturday’s NBA action.

Weak Defense To Target: Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are coming off back-to-back victories and are battling for a playoff spot, but if they extend their win streak on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets it will likely be because of their offense and not their defensive play. Houston ranks 26th in the NBA with an average of 106.9 points allowed per game this season and it only makes sense to target their defense by using at least one player from the Hornets. Kemba Walker is the obvious fantasy stud from Charlotte, but he is also among the most expensive options on the board. On the other hand, Nicolas Batum is very reasonably priced and he has put up some strong numbers of late. Batum has averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.3 three-point shots and 1.7 blocks per game over the last week and he should be a strong pick to bank on in order to target the Houston defense.

Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns might not beat the Golden State Warriors, but rookie Devin Booker has been absolutely on fire of late and his price tag makes him worth having in every single DraftKings lineup on Saturday night. Booker has averaged 27.0 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 three-point shots per game over the past seven days and the Suns will lean on his scoring ability in an effort to keep up with the Warriors.

Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… JaMychal Green, Hollis Thompson

Injuries have led to the Memphis Grizzlies giving JaMychal Green nearly 30 minutes per game over the last week of action and he has responded with some impressive NBA fantasy numbers. Although the general thought about him is that he’s a no-name brand, he’s played exactly 37 minutes in each of the last two games while scoring at least 16 points in each of his last three games. Delving deeper, Green has averaged 14.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over the last week of action. He should be a strong NBA fantasy value option when the Grizzlies visit the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers continue to lean on Hollis Thompson, who has averaged 34.0 minutes per game since last Saturday. Thompson has averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 three-point shots and 1.3 assists per game over that span. Although the rebounds and assist numbers are a bit light, the 2.7 threes is a very nice contribution. He is another strong NBA fantasy value play worth taking a chance on when Philadelphia hosts the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night.

Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: OKC @ SAS

Saturday’s NBA slate will feature another marquee matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder set to visit the San Antonio Spurs and it should also be one of the highest scoring games of the night. The problem is that it’s hard to find strong value options from either team as four players have dominated from a fantasy perspective between them. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have led the way for Oklahoma City, but if there is one other option that might be worth considering it might be Enes Kanter. Kanter has averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game over the last week of action and the Thunder could lean on him in this matchup. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge have led the way for San Antonio, but David West could be a decent alternative. West has averaged 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game over the past seven days and might be worth taking a chance on in order to capitalize on the high scoring matchup.
