The first round of the March Madness tournament is in the books and that means the majority of brackets have already been busted pretty hard. Those that still have a chance to win their pools can keep their focus on the NCAA, but for those that would like to make their money back should look to NBA fantasy. there is a full slate of games for Saturday with plenty of DraftKings Daily NBA Fantasy League tournaments available to play. Here is some important NBA fantasy advice to consider for Saturday’s action.
Weak Defense To Target: Denver Nuggets
The Charlotte Hornets have won nine of their last 10 games including a big victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday night and there is every reason to think they will continue to roll when they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. Denver has dropped three in a row and ranks 23rd in the NBA in points allowed per game this season. Kemba Walker, Marvin Williams and Nicolas Batum have really stepped up for the Hornets over the course of their hot streak, but if you want a smart value option in an effort to target the Nuggets’ defense then Courtney Lee might be the best bet. Lee has averaged 11.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 three-point shots in 31.4 minutes per game over the last week and he could top those averages with Denver in town.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Lance Stephenson, Memphis Grizzlies
Lance Stephenson was a popular value pick in DraftKings contests when he first arrived in Memphis and he hasn’t slowed down a bit over the past couple of weeks. In fact, Stephenson has heated up over the last seven days and he is definitely worth targeting heading in to a key matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Stephenson has averaged 23.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists over that span and it only makes sense to ride the hot hand heading in to a big game for the Grizzlies.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Shelvin Mack, Doug McDermott
Speaking of trades that have really worked in favor of a player, the Utah Jazz have to be thrilled with Shelvin Mack’s production since he arrived from the Atlanta Hawks ahead of the deadline. Mack has averaged 18.3 points, 8.0 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 three-point shots per game over the last seven days and considering his very reasonable price tag he should be a lock in DraftKings lineups for Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls will offer up their own value option for anybody playing in Daily Fantasy Leagues on Saturday night in Dough McDermott. Injuries have led to the Bulls giving McDermott 30.0 minutes per game over the last week of action and he has responded with a high level of production. McDermott has averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 three-point shots, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over that span and he is another strong sleeper option worth consideration for Saturday’s DraftKings contests.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: GS @ SAS
The San Antonio Spurs are eight games away from an undefeated regular season at the AT&T Center, but their toughest test of the year will be against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. It will be a matchup of two of the highest scoring teams in the NBA as Golden State ranks 1st while San Antonio ranks 6th in points per game this season. Both teams feature a pair of star players that have carried the team offensively this season with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson leading the way fro the Warriors while Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge have led the way for the Spurs. All four of those options should be strong picks for Saturday night, but those looking for a decent value pick to capitalize on this high scoring matchup should consider Patty Mills. The Spurs’ backup point guard has averaged 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 three-point shots per game over the last week of action and should have a productive night in a key game against Golden State on Saturday.
