The Clippers may be one step closer to finding a new home to play in. The historic Forum in Inglewood could be sold soon, and the area around may serve as a home for a new stadium. Team owner Steve Ballmer is reportedly to be close to making the purchase from the Madison Square Garden company.

The Clippers have long been rumored to have been looking for their own home stadium in Los Angeles. They released the following statement regarding Ballmer’s attempt to purchase The Forum.
The Clippers continue to pursue plans to build a state-of-the-art, 18,000-seat basketball arena and entertainment complex in Inglewood and are currently working with the city to successfully complete the comprehensive Environmental Impact Report. We are examining every possible way to resolve our differences with Madison Square Garden Co. regarding our new arena.
The area surrounding The Forum will no doubt be a hot spot in the coming years. The new NFL stadium housing the Rams and Chargers will be completed soon, and the area around the two sites is booming.
