Jeremy Lin, the first American-born Taiwanese player to play in the NBA, thinks that his career in the world’s strongest basketball league is slowly coming to an end. The 30-year-old guard fears that there is no place for him in the NBA anymore, and he is not sure whether he’ll find a new team before next season starts.
“Every year it gets harder,” Jeremy Lin said of his uncertain NBA future. “In English there’s a saying and it says once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. But rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me. So, free agency has been tough. Because I feel like in some ways the NBA’s kind of given up on me.”

Lin represented eight different teams in his nine-year career, and he even managed to get a ring playing for the Toronto Raptors last season.
“After the season I had to get ready for this Asia trip and it was the last thing I wanted to do,” Lin said. “Because I knew for six weeks I would have to just put on a smile. I would have to talk about a championship that I don’t feel like I really earned. I would have to talk about a [basketball] future I don’t know if I want to have. And honestly, it’s just embarrassing. It’s tough.”
Jeremy Lin averaged 11.6 points and 4.3 assists in his career and arguably played his best basketball for the two New York’s franchises — the Knicks and the Nets. However, he didn’t start more than three games per season since the 2016-17 season, and he is not convinced he will play in the NBA again, but he will certainly not give up.
“I’m here to just tell you don’t give up,” Lin said. “For those of you who are working hard but you don’t see results — don’t give up.”
In case he fails to get a job in the NBA, Lin could move to Europe instead. According to Yahoo Sports, CSKA Moscow is interested in bringing the free agent to Russia.
