The Los Angeles Lakers came away with a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night in a wild overtime battle. In addition to already being one of the best games in the NBA this season, it was a historic night for each team’s biggest stars. LeBron James posted 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists for LA while Luka Doncic went for 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists in a losing effort for Dallas.

With all those numbers, we bring you the important part of this story. Moreover, it was the first time in NBA history that opposing players had triple-doubles with at least 15 dimes.

Doncic was the first to get his triple-double with a couple minutes left in the third quarter and Dallas up 79-72. LeBron proceeded to lead his team on a furious comeback, notching his 10th board late in the fourth quarter and willing the Lakers to pull away in overtime.

Both players, who have 14 years of experience apart, gave each other props after the game.

It had to have been a special moment for Doncic, who grew up looking up to James and said that he was his idol from the beginning. Both stars proved something after this game. LeBron showed that he is still the best player in the world, and Doncic proved that he is here to stay.
