Vince Carter did a lot in his illustrious career, but he is missing one thing — an NBA ring.
Although Carter never recruited players, he did admit that he wanted to see one particular player playing alongside him in Toronto — former Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal.
“The only time I can recall is I tried to get Shaq to Toronto. I felt like it was close. It was tough at the time, just because … a lot of guys were like, What’s Canada about? It was tough to convince players that it’s a great place until they’re actually there. Even me, when I worked out for them, I didn’t really know what they had to offer until I was actually there,” Carter said.

Carter didn’t reveal which year this was, but it was probably the time when Shaq was the leading big guy in the NBA. We can only imagine what Carter-O’Neal tandem would do together. If they played with the same team, Carter would probably have the missing piece from his career – the Larry O’Brien trophy.
