NCAA Hoops Action – December 30

NCAA Hoops action resumes on December 30, and a nice slate of games finds us looking to finish the year on a high note.

I certainly hope everyone has been enjoying bowl season, as Erik the Hun and Adam Greene have posted all the post-season action here at Get More Sports. If you want to get in on the action, jump to our sports book and make it rain!

So back to the NCAA hoops action we go, and right off the bat we have a 4 PM ET tip-off that I am getting in on.

West Virginia and Oklahoma State have a doozy of a game on deck, and the Mountaineers have had their way with the Cowboys lately — back-to-back season sweeps has the Mountaineers 4 – 0 in the last four meetings.

Obviously, there is more value in the losses these two team have, because they have combined for three losses against rather respectable teams.

West Virginia has one loss, and it came to Temple by four points back on November 25, in the NIT Season Tip-Off championship game. Temple may not fall in the highly respectable conversation this year though, but that was a great game, nonetheless.

Oklahoma State has two losses and each were to ACC opponents. The Cowboys took a beat down from the Tarheels back on November 22, and almost survived Maryland, only losing 71 – 70.

Did you catch the lines here? 170 for a total? I mean I get it, but West Virginia’s defense is for real.

I see that being the separating factor that will give West Virginia the win here.

Most sites offer -1 on the Mountaineers and I see that as acceptable enough for some action. The better defense, and a team that can put up 90 as easy as they can, has me on it.

Play:
West Virginia -1 vs Oklahoma State

With another 4 PM ET tip, the opportunity to play another total comes our way.

Massachusetts and the Bonnies are going at it, and going at they shall. Does that say 156? I have no idea how the hell they are going to keep this game under anything like that number. I see this as a 90 – 86 type of game where 160+ is easily coming our way.

Play:
UMass vs St Bonaventure Over 156

I am a West Coast kind of guy when it comes to hoops, although as I mentioned I love the MAAC the most out of all the conferences. I almost always look at the early games first, and then I scroll allll the way down to the bottom of the schedule. Then I start over and work my way up the board. I don’t know how it became my routine, but it just is how my process works.

Idaho is hosting Eastern Washington, and my god, how many points is Idaho going to throw down on the Eagles?
I’m thinking in the mid-80’s to low-90’s to be honest. I can easily see a 87 – 80 type of game here.

I am going to recommend two plays here.

Plays:
Idaho 1st Half -3
E. Washington vs Idaho Over 141

So there are some big games for sure today, and one them is surely the USC vs Oregon tilt. USC is about as good as they can be out of the gate, and then comes….. the nemesis! Oregon owns USC, and they have for years!

That could surely change this year, and the line setters are offering 7 points for us? If not now, when? Years of dominance in this series can be erased today, and on the road to boot! How nice would USC ML look in our pending bets? That is certainly a nice dish-out, but we don’t need to be all that ballsy.

Play:
USC +7 vs Oregon

Kansas and TCU contribute to a big night of NCAA Hoops action, and that is going to be quite a game. I am somewhat surprised by the Jayhawks laying -5.5 on the road, but of course it makes sense. They have dominated the recent series with 8 straight wins over the Frogs. What makes this games tough to predict is I feel the line setters nailed this read. With a 5.5 and 145 on the total, I can see a 75 – 70 type of game going down. That is what makes it tough to make a clear call, because a bucket or a missed free throw might just affect the whole damn night.

Let’s find another place to go.

Texas Tech and Iowa State have a 137.5 attached to their game? Uh, excuse me? Who the hell set that line? Can we make this my drunk play of the night? How the line setters saw anything under 140 here is almost hysterical.

If it climbs to 138 or 139 so what!! Bang it regardless!

Play:
Texas Tech vs Iowa State Over 137.5
