Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid threw an elbow into Brooklyn Nets’ Jarrett Allen and the Nets are not happy with his apology. The New York Knicks have high hopes for the upcoming NBA draft lottery and the Golden State Warriors are hopeful to see Cousins back on the floor this season.
Nets angry over 76ers stars’ laughing apology | ESPN
The Philadelphia 76ers tied the series with the Brooklyn Nets after a home victory but the highlight of that tilt was Joel Embiid’s elbow to Jarrett Allen’s face. Although Embiid issued an apology during a press conference after the game, he and his teammate Ben Simmons laughed about it and the Nets are not happy with it.
“We didn’t really like that. We thought that was kind of disrespectful, especially after the elbow he threw,” LeVert said after the Nets practiced Wednesday. “It is what it is. There’s no love lost. It’s a playoff series. We expect that.”

‘We’re excited’: Knicks have hopes for the lottery, free agency | Associated Press
The New York Knicks selected Patrick Ewing to represent them in the upcoming NBA draft lottery, which will be held on May 14th, and they are hoping to land the No. 1 pick. The Knicks finished the regular season with a 17-65 record, matching the worst record in franchise history and have a 14 percent chance to get the top pick.
“Our job is to prepare for every possible scenario,” general manager Scott Perry said. “So we know going into this draft we can either end up with 1, best-case scenario, 5, quote-unquote worst-case scenario, and we work all year long to be very prepared to tackle either scenario. And we’ll be comfortable doing so.”

DeMarcus Cousins injury update: Warriors ‘leaving the door open’ for center (quad) to return | Sporting News
Golden State Warriors’ center DeMarcus Cousins suffered a torn left quadriceps in the first quarter of Game 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers and although he will likely miss the remainder of the campaign, Steve Kerr is hopeful to see the 28-year-old back on the court later in the playoffs.
“DeMarcus, most likely, will not be back during the playoffs,” Kerr said. “You’re probably looking at a couple months’ recovery, so it’s unlikely. But (the Warriors’ sports medicine staff has) told me that there are occasions where that injury heals faster. So we’re leaving the door open, obviously.”

Michael Jordan: Tiger’s Masters Win … Greatest Comeback Ever!! | The Athletic
The greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, certainly knows a thing or two about big comebacks. Let’s remember that he ended a two-year MLB career to return to the basketball court and won three straight NBA titles in the 1990s. However, MJ said that Tiger Woods’ comeback is epic and that Tiger’s Masters’ win is the greatest comeback of all-time.
“I never thought he’d get back physically,” Jordan said. “He didn’t think he’d get back physically. But he did it. No one expected him to be back the way he is now.” M.J. added, “He’s probably the only person who believed he could get back. To me, that’s a major accomplishment. To me, it’s unbelievable.”
For the lunch/break crowd: like a lot of people, Michael Jordan watched Tiger Woods win the Masters with awe and wonder. Like almost no one else, MJ could relate to how Woods did it. I talked with him about it in @TheAthleticDC: https://t.co/sdNrf84NNs
