Bobby Marks reported that LeVert’s extension will start in 2020-21 and will cost the Brooklyn Nets $16.2 million in the first year, and then $17.5 million and $18.8 million in the next two seasons. The extension gives LeVert security and an opportunity to return to free agency or negotiate another extension before his 28th birthday. The Nets are also doing a great job in keeping their key players together as LeVert, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan and Spencer Dinwiddie are under contract through the 2021-22 campaign.

LeVert became Sean Marks’ first draft pick as the Nets’ general manager, 20th overall out of Michigan in 2016. Brooklyn traded power forward Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers in order get the pick and then selected LeVert.
